Flower suggestions

I really need help with my flowers.  We're having a small wedding (50 people) and the reception with be one long banquet table.  My FI's mom gave me some beautiful silver vases that I plan to fill with blush pink peonies.  I also plan on getting a few more vases to fill out the table, but I can't decide which type and/or color.  I'm leaning toward doing a single type of white flowers, perhaps double stock or snap dragons, but I just don't know what I think will look best.

Any suggestions on flowers an/or color?  Also, do you think it would look better with some sort of greenery or other filler with the peonies or other flowers?

Thanks for any input!

Re: Flower suggestions

  • I totally think it depends on your own style!  I personally love the look of flowers with no greenery, and I also love the look of hydrangeas with peonies.

  • What about anemones?
This is a bouquet but still it'd be pretty

Or I love hydrangeas we'll be doing a lot of hydrangeas
  • I think this is based on personal preferences and what kind of "theme" you are doing for the wedding. Our wedding is out side so our centerpieces are going to be a mix of wildflowers. Whereas the WP flowers will be roses.

  • Thanks for the suggestions!  I'm going to talk with the florist about hydrangeas.  They're one of my favorites, but I always seem to kill them within a day so I'm nervous about doing them for the wedding.

They tend to not last long and require a lot of water.  If they look kinda wilty just spray them with water and they'll perk back up.
