Lanterns and aisle

Couple silly questions

First, is anyone using/used paper lanterns as deco outside? I am getting married at 4 so obviously they will not want to be lit! WHat do you guys think of taht idea?

Also, what are you ladies doing to make your aisle unique?  Alters???

    I personally don't think the ceremony needs to be decorated much.  It is such a small amount of time and all eyes are on the couple.  With the bride, groom, officiant, and BP, that is enough decor.  Consider saving your money and using it elsewhere for the reception.

    I'm lining the aisle with tissue paper pomanders. I have pictures in my bio under DIY!

    hi ladies!
    I was just browsing this board for ideas. I may steal this idea for my outdoor ceremony - I think it looks great, adds a pop of color, and would be fairly inexpensive and easy (they obviously wouldn't be lit)

    We hung old french canning jars filled with flowers from the edges of our chairs (pics in bio).  I found the jars at a yard sale for less than $1 per jar, and got the wildflowers from a farmers market.  We strung twine on the jars to make them hang and they looked great!
    We're currently on a 15 month trip around the world!

    We ordered the smallest paper lanterns and my florist is going to be using them as a vessel for some mini gerberas and hydrangea and they are going to be hung from every other chair down the aisle. She has it all envisioned out and I think it will work. We didn't want any ribbons and flower petals strewn about. So, I think this will be simple and pretty. :)

    I used paper lanterns for the reception (not the ceremony) and for my aisle I used a petal aisle runner (petal carpet) from petalhappy.com
