Sandbar in Feb?

Hello all! I am a Chicago naive hoping to have my wedding down in Florida. Since we don't live there we are looking for some guidance online.

First thing we are wondering is a good time of year to wed. We don't want it incredibly hot, and not during peak weeks (such as spring break or such) - any time, or month suggestions? We are thinking Feb.... anyone with experience at that time?

As far as venue we are thinking the Sandbar restaurant. Anyone have their wedding there that is willing to share their experience?

Any information will be be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Weather wise, the best time would be between September and April, then it gets hot. You being from Chicago might not even think it's cold in February LOL, but we Floridians freeze our butts off.Sandbar has killer grouper sandwiches, it's open and right on the beach where your guest will be sitting. I think February might be too cold to be outside though, especially by the water.

October, November  March or April would be better

Last February it was too cold for an outdoor wedding

Well, unfortunately, the weather has been pretty unpredictable. I know this past winter it rained A LOT down here.
I got married in early March of this year and the weather was perfect. However, this is getting into the spring break zone. I think February would be nice, although like pp commented, it was rather cold down here this past february, but if you are coming from Chicago it should be fine for you.

I find that even in October it can still be pretty hot down here, so I would suggest any time in December through April. This will also help you avoid hurricane season :)

ETA: Rain is a very good possibility, so I would make sure that whereever you choose to have your wedding that you make sure an indoor back-up plan is available and thaty ou like the indoor location.

Spring break for High Schoolers and Colleges is right in the later month of Feb, all the way to April. So if it were me I would do it after May. All the ladies above are correct about our weather. Last year it was the coldest is had been and stayed cold until about March or so. The weather gets nicer in the Fall months of Sept, Oct, and Nov. But places do start to give deals in the latter Summer months due to it being slower in the Summer months like Sept (my venue gave me a discount).

I got married this past Feb. 20th on Longboat Key which isn't too far from the Sandbar.  I'm from MA.  We chose the 20th b/c a lot of our guests are school teachers & we were trying to make it convenient for them by making the wedding the last Saturday of school vacation.  Turns out, airfare was super expensive.  Weather wise, I think we had the nicest weekend the whole month of Feb.  I bought pasminas for my wedding party b/c it had been so cold.  We didn't end up using them though.

I suffered through an outdoor wedding in February this year (VERY cold day!), and it was even inland.  One thing you might want to consider is wind at the beach with the sand.  November and December are usually nice, in my opinion.  You are wise to stay away during April, because the Spring Break crowds get a little thick.  The Sandbar is a great restaurant, so I hope it (or whatever else, you choose) works out for you!  :-)
