Photography Requests

I am in the process of putting together a list for my photographer with all of the pictures I would like to have taken and with whom I want them with. Is this silly? I don't want to tell her how to do her job, but I will be really heartbroken if for some reason I don't get a picture with every one I want.

If you are doing this, and have started a list, would you mind sharing? I'd like to make sure I'm covering my bases.

I am doing this, and don't think it is silly at all! I just asked my photographer if he minded if I could put a list together of some pictures I'd like to have taken. He didn't mind at all, so just ask. I felt the same way, let me get my list and I can PM it to you, if you'd like!

This is isn't silly at all! My photographer is requiring this and I would be getting it together of my own accord even if she wasn't. Your photographer should definitely have a list of all of the shots because you will have way too much going on to make sure that you have every single shot. I haven't actually started my list yet so I'm not much help to you there, but you are definitely not being silly to write it all down.

Oh, and I don't think it's weird at all. I'm kinda going into the crazy zone because I am going to print out pictures to give to our photographer as an example of what pictures I want. She's gonna call me a bridezilla for sure!!

I'm doing it as well for my photographer. Some of the poses I have seen on pinterest and whatnot have me inspired and they arent the typical poses. I don't think there's anything wrong with letting your photographer know what you want since they are working for YOU and you are paying good money to be happy.

I agree with everyone else. Definitely not silly, because you should definitely get your money's worth!! You want to have great pictures and the pictures you want! Another suggestion is to talk to your family because my mom has already put in a request for a couple pics, which are fine with me. Keeping in mind that you don't want them to run crazy with the picture ideas...

my photographer actually gave me a multiple page document that she wrote up as far as some options for pics (if that makes sense) and im supposed to add anything elsei want. that way nothing gets forgotten

My photographer also asked for a list of any "must-haves". They also want me to keep a pinterest board or word document of any I see that I like so that they get an idea of what we want.

My fiance's cousin didn't do this and has no pictures of her husband alone on their wedding day. It seems like something silly, but having a list ensures that you get pictures of all of the people you would like pictures with. Also, the day gets hectic and you may forget something without a list. I'm beginning to complile my list also.

I am a wedding photographer and I require all my brides AND grooms have a sit down conversation with me 3-4 weeks before the wedding so we can go over all their ideas. I offer suggestions but also make sure they go over all the details so we don't accidentaly miss anything and then I keep that list with me on the day of the event especially if there are some uncommon requests. The more involved a bride and groom are, the more involved the photographer will be. We don't always know what a client wants or doesn't want and no couple is the same.

My fiancee and I are doing the same thing with our photographer so we don't miss anything thats important to us. I'm also very picky about what I don't want taken so were going to make sure only the important stuff is done.
