Just munching on an apple eating lunch!  But wedding planning is coming along, thanks for asking!  Got my venue and caterer down, taking my time now :-)

Hi there! My planning is going okay. We booked our church in downtown Baltimore and the AVAM for reception, with Sasha's catering. Still have LOTS more to do, though!

[QUOTE]Hi tygress - haven't seen you around in awhile! Congrats on getting married. How was your wedding? My planning is going good thus far, I have my venue as well. (Historic Baldwin Hall in Millersville) and am booking my caterer next week. (KS Catering) Other than that I've started tackling all my supplies for DIY projects and centerpieces.

Hey! Yea i have been lurking but not really posting. Things have been crazy nuts for me and my family lately. I took a pretty bad turn with my anxiety and depression with the news of my dad having stage 4 esoph cancer. It was completely and totally unexpected. He was at my wedding and seemed completely fine with the exception of the normal not being able to stand for long periods due to his back. We couldn't even finish the father/daughter dance because of emotions and him not being able to stand the whole time. I will never forget the time we were up there though. It was extremely emotional for both of us. Right now he is fighting it and doing Chemo treatments. They did another CT Scan yesterday to see the progression of the treatment. Hopefully we will get good news with that.

Married life has been great! DH and I have had some ups and downs due to my A&D. I started back on my meds and started seeing a therapist. DD started 1st grade this year and she loves it so far. She seems to like her teacher. Says she is funny and talks in funny voices and whatnot. We are going to be signing her up for dance again at the end of this week. She is excited about that. We are currently in a battle with fleas in our apt. They have been really bad this summer from what i have heard. Anywhere you go to get flea meds they are sold out! I have been vaccuming like a crazy woman! lol My poor neighbors probably think i have become OCD about it! Oh well! They would be too trying to get rid of these buggers!

I still have some things from the wedding that are for sale. If you check out the For Sale post up top and see anything you are interested in let me know! The petals that are on there i believe i sold both red and white but i have to double check.

If anyone needs help with anything let me know! I'll do what i can for you.

Tygress- We decided on StJohns Church in Westminster and the Union Mills Homestead also in Westminster.

Very sorry to hear about your father.  I hate cancer.  My uncle was just diagnosed with stage 4 follicular non hodgkins lymphoma less than a month ago.  He and I are very close, my next door neighbor growing up, and the one (not my dad) with binoculars in the window watching as I became engaged...  It's tough, but we are staying positive.  He has a good attitude but it is very hard watching such a strong man barely able to walk, needs crutches or a walker depending upon the day... just 51 years old.

BUT the best thing is do not spend the days in sadness, because then one day he might be gone (6 months or 20 years from now!) and you will regret not being in the state of mind to enjoy the time you have with him.  Stay positive!  From his perspective, I bet he's sick of anything related to cancer, so dont remind him.

SkettiHeadie - I have a question for you about KS Catering if you don't mind.  I'm very interested in booking them as my caterer but I'm a little frustrated because he takes a while to answer any questions/emails I send him.  I've been waiting for over a week now for him to tell me when I can do a tasting.  I wanted to have this booked last month but couldn't because of all the delays.  Have you had any problems like this?

Ash - Sorry to hear about your uncle. I know what you mean about trying to have a positive attitude about it all! I spent the first week or so crying and only do so every once in a while now. We have been dealing with this for about 3-4 months now. Like your uncle my dad is young. He is only 55. He has fallen a few times. Holds on to the wall or whatever he can to walk around and usually uses a cane now. Since we learned all of this i have been taking my laundry over there and doing it one day during the weekend. That way my daughter and i can spend as much time around him as possible in case something were to happen. She is totally loving seeing him all the time again.

ivelinda- I have dealt with KS Catering and he usually responds like hours from me sending him an email, perhaps email again?  I am unfortunately unable to use him because the venue we ended up choosing was one that already had a caterer.  He is a really nice guy and from our tasting the food is good.
