cupcakes for guests...

we're wanting to do cupcakes for our guests, and then we're going to have a tiny wedding cake made for us. just a small 2 tier cake. we're doing chocolate and orange creamsicle cupcakes and orange creamsicle cake for us. just wanted to know if this was a good idea? FI is in bootcamp right now, so everything is on me to plan our wedding! I just hope that the cupcakes are a hit!

You know your crowd and you need to choose flavors everyone will eat.  If you think those are it, then go for it!  If you are choosing the two flavors you guys like best, you might want to rethink it.  Personally, I'd eat either one.

As far as the small cake for cutting and cupcakes, I think you are fine.

Sounds perfect to me. We're doing the same kind of thing.

We doing almost the same thing. We are getting our favorite cheesecake from the cheesecake factory to cut (it looks pretty too) then my friend is baking 3 types of cupcakes: vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet (our cheesecake is red velvet) but along with that we are doing cheesecake square bites in three flavors: turtle, plain, white chocolate raspberry

:threadjack: ShapeUpTampa, check with your venue to make sure they allow food prepared in a non-licensed kitchen. Not all venues will, for liability reasons.

    OP, your idea sounds fine.

Yea I kind of know it, I used to help plan weddings and parties. This place lets you bring in any food you want in the contract. But great to let othes know who might not know this. Our venue actually lets you do all the warming in their kitchen too, prep of appetizers, and is letting someone we know cater the affair and bring a smoker to the side of the building. As for the desserts they are being done in the home of a baker: Her grandmother has a business and has 3 ovens for the sole purpose of their baking.
