Seems by description you enjoy the second one the best! You keep contemplating over it so it seems that you just need to be more convinced that you like it the best.
Aah - I actually just TODAY discovered the venue I mentioned as the first choice. I was amazed to find something so nice at such a great price and I think I would be perfectly happy there, but I can't get the other place out of my head. Thanks for the opinion!
When we found our venue, we knew it was IT. We still looked at other places, but nothing could quite outshine the one that I just KNEW was where I wanted our wedding to be.
If it's sticking in your mind, try to figure out if there's a reason for that. If it's just IT for you, then honestly, Friday with beer and wine will be just great.

I agree with the PP's. A breathtaking setting with beer and wine sounds way better to me. If your guests are only interested in a lot of booze, they can find the liquor store after they leave your wedding.
Night swimming in the ocean= pretty sweet reception!
I did a Monday (public holiday, day-time) wedding with only beer and wine, so I'm biased... Go for the amazing venue that you can't get out of your head! I doubt you'll regret it!
Also, those guests who wanted to get wasted (all three of them, lol) still managed to do so on just wine and beer, but it took them a few hours and I think that was a good thing for everyone involved!
I say go for the second one! It will look awesome in your photos and so will your guests! In all seriousness though go for the one that makes you and your FI happy. If your guests are just there to get blitzed then they aren't really there to celebrate your marriage anyways.

Just by your description of them, I'd go with #2. You're clearly smitten with it. Follow your heart. If you're in LOVE with a venue, go for it. If it inconveniences some of your guests, such is life.
I chose option #1 due to it being a Saturday. I think that having only beer and wine is perfectly acceptable. However, unless you are trying to have a lower attendance rate, I would push for a Saturday wedding.
As a guest, I would rather attend a Saturday wedding at a "perfectly fine venue" than a Friday wedding at an "amazing, breathtaking venue."
I would go with the saturday one since many may have to take the friday off. I am one a the odd people out there that do do not enjoy the taste of wine or beer, so i like weddings with something other that just those two. BUT It could be different for your guests so it is up to you. If you are going to wish you picked the other venue then you should go with one you want.
Honestly you have to choose what you feel is better for you and FI. I don't want you to choose one or the other and then keep questioning yourself and saying, "What if I had..."
If you would like for more of your guests to be able to make it and would like to have more alcohol available then go ahead with venue #1. Also, with this venue you're gonna be saving some money, right?
Buuuut if some of your guests *possibly* not being able to make it isn't a big deal then stick with Friday and venue #2. I'm pretty sure venue #2 is the Lake Travis one though, right? You know I'm biased!!!

Yeah... the thing is that even with the Friday date and limited bar, it's still a good bit more expensive than the other venue I'm considering. If I think about it logically, the first venue is the way to go. Not only is it a good deal cheaper, but it's full-service (so it cuts the planning waaay down - important since I'm moving two states away in a few months) and it's just down the street from FI's parents house in Katy, so it'll be convenient for his family. The place on the lake is beautiful, but that's really the only thing it has over the place. I'm just afraid right now that I'll end up second-guessing/regretting it either way.
There's one more place in Austin I'm going to check out this week. Maybe that will be the one?

Um, full-service sounds wonderful! Is it Agave Road? (or something like that?) I think it's a really good idea to have places that are inclusive so you won't have to stress as much!
I'm sorry you're having to stress about this! :( Hopefully Austin goes well this weekend! Maybe it will be inclusive AND have a wonderful view AND be affordable! The only problem is I think any place near Lake Travis is going to be a bit more expensive than any place here in Houston.

It's not Agave Road, but it's just down the street. (I looked at Agave Road, and it's nice, but I'm not crazy about that southwestern architecture style). It's called Tuscany Villa. I've pretty much already talked myself out of using them, though. I'm in love with their prices... and that's it.
