Clarisonic/skin problems

This might be pretty random but has anyone ever used Clarisonic? It is suppose to shrink pores but I didn't want to dish out money for it i without hearing some other people's opinions of it. I could really use something for my skin.

Re: Clarisonic/skin problems

  • You will see threads all over the boards of people who love their Clarisonic... and I LOVE my Mia. I started using it once daily 6 months before our wedding and my skin has never looked smoother. I still break out occasionally, but my overall complexion is better. If you sign up for Ulta emails, you can get coupons. They also sell them in department stores if you can find a coupon.
  • I can second that-I also love my Mia.  In fact, I bought my mom one as her "mother of the bride" gift and gave it to her early so she could have beautiful skin for the wedding.  She's hooked as well!

Just FYI, Ulta coupons are usually not good on a Clarisonic.  :(

I just got mine but I am one of the few that is wondering if it is good for me.  I had a facial done with one and my skin looked amazing which is what prompted me to finally buy one.  I've had mine less than a month and my pores actually look bigger.  I am not sure what is going on so I am going to stop using it for a month and do everything else the same and see what happens.

But 99% of people that have one love it.  I would say get the Mia 2--the one that has two speeds and beeps every 30 seconds and comes with a travel case.  It is only like $20 more and I wish I had sprung for that one because I think it's worth it.
  • Stephie that makes me sad that it's not working for you. :(

I know! -- but I'm not going to blame the Clarisonic just yet.  I'm hoping I can use it because I do know that my face is much cleaner after I use it.
  • You can buy the Olay one, which is much cheaper.  I was going to buy the Mia, but then I discovered Olay's version.  It had excellent reviews, so I bought it.  I can't compare it to the Mia since I've never used it, but I love the Olay one.  I use it with Purity Made Simple and my skin has been so much better!

  • I know many people love their Clarisonic but if you have sensitive, break out prone skin like I do, hold off! I truly believe when I have active breakouts, the clarisonic makes them worse every single time!  I do not believe my skin can handle the constant exfoliation and roughness of even the "sensitive" skin brush.  Perhaps using it less frequently would make sense, but I honestly prefer my exfoliation a little less abrasive and non-manual (ie salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etc).  I recently tried dermalogica's daily microexfoliant which has gotten fantastic reviews all over, and I like it so far.  Their products are top notch.  It is a powder that you mix with wet hands to form a paste and then rub into your skin.  They say you can use it daily but I think using it 2-3 times a week is good enough for me or I will irritate.  It depends upon your individual skin type and how much exfoliation you can handle!  I personally recommend trying a product like that over the clarisonic, but its preference and skin type.  Good luck!
