Venue ideas - "Urban Chic"

Hi all,

I'm a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding which she is trying to plan for April of 2012 in Atlanta.  She doesn't have a huge budget, but was hoping to find an "urban chic" location, like a rooftop patio, historic building, etc.

Do you have any ideas of venue locations I can pass on to her?

Congrats to all of you and good luck planning your weddings!

Yikes - if she's looking for a rooftop or historic building in downtown Atlanta, it's going to be rather pricey.

King Plow Arts Center comes to mind when I think "urban chic," but I don't know what the venue rental fees are.  Do you know what her budget is solely for the venue rental?

Loft at Castleberry Hill - it's cheap.

She will actually be coming from out of town.  Her Fiance's parents are in Monroe and hers are in Lawrenceville so they're looking for a location anywhere from Atlanta to Athens.  The one requirement is that there will be a LOT of out of town guests so they'd like a reception site close to a hotel.

Their total budget is around $10K for 100 people...alcohol at the reception is being paid for by the groom's parents so not included in that total.

I would suggest the following places:

    King Plow Arts Center
    Loft at Castleberry Hill
    Ventannas
    J Fuqua Rooftop Pavillion
    Foundry at Puritan Mill

I'm getting married at King Plow, and I have loved my experience with them so far.  The food is delicious.  It's not too far from midtown so there are a lot of hotel options nearby.  Our hotel is about a 10 minute drive away (if that, depending on traffic).

Try Defoor Centre.  We didn't end up booking there, but loved it, and I definitely think it fits the theme.  Good luck!

Try the rooftop bar at Shout Midtown (Atlanta). One of the great things is that it's so gorgeous there, you could save money on decorations, and the food is amazing! I bet you could do the ceremony and reception there. (I am doing my rehearsal dinner there). Check it out!
