I run in Asics, but I can't tell you how important and helpful it was for me to get fitted in shoes that work for my gait and what not. Go to Fleet Feet and get fitted...you seriously won't regret it. I was determined to get some Brooks when I went and got fitted and never in a million years thought I'd end up in Asics, but my running shoes work WITH me...

It's weird, but get fitted. You'll be able to tell the difference.

  • I absolutely love my Pearl Izumi's, but they can only be found at specialty running stores or online. But once I got my first pair 6 years ago...I haven't been able to go back. They are UH-Mazing.

  • Asics Nimbus or Kayano. My feet have expensive taste. Definitely get fitted, and good luck!
  • Asics all the way.

  • Ditto on getting fitted. I got fitted at a specialty store and they were incredibly helpful. The first store I went to fitted me based on walking. A good store will watch you run, etc. I have the Mizuno Wave Riders and have had no issues 100 miles in.
  • GOTTA get fitted. I am an Asics gal all the way. Every now and then I try to switch and just can't do it.

  • Vibram 5 Fingers.

Yes, they're weird-looking but I run so much more comfortably in them than other shoes.

(The top of my foot goes numb in running shoes so I can only run for so long, my feet have free range of motion in these.)
