Minnesota

Beach Venue

My fiance is currently stationed out in California and we originally wanted to have a beach wedding. After thinking about it more, we decided that it would be really tough to get both of our families and guests out to California for the wedding. So we decided to just have it here in Minnesota. I'm not sure if we'll still be able to have a beach wedding since there aren't many nice beaches around here. Any suggestions for an outdoor venue? Doesn't necessarily have to be on a beach, but it would be nice to at least have it by the water. Thanks!

Gooseberry State Park in Two Harbors allows weddings on the shore of Lake Superior. Also Park Point (sandy beach) in Duluth is an option...I've heard you can even rent the boat house for receptions. You could also try Grand Marais.

Stillwater has some beautiful parks right next to the St Croix river.

St Marys Point between Afton and Stillwater is a beautiful public beach and was actually my first pick for our outdoor ceremony!  We would like to have and outdoor private ceremony near water and an outdoor reception in the Hastings/Cannon Falls/Northfield area.  Treasure Island Casino also haa some beautiful areas on the river depending on your budget its worth a look.  Good luck and let me know if yu find anything good!

Bayview on Lake Minnetonka is right on the lake and has a great outdoor tent perfect for probably ~100-150 people. It's on the expensive side but it's a gorgeous venue. It would be one of my top choices but our guest list won't fit!
