Just Engaged and Proposals

one thing down, a bajillion more to go!

My FH and I got engaged November 9, and we finally have our venue booked for October 4, 2013. We are doing an evening wedding- ideally I want it to be as the sun sets since we are going to have the smoky mountains behind us. Super relieved to have one major thing checked off the checklist!

below is the link to the venue:

I think it will be perfect since I want it to be pretty simple... I'm thinking my colors are going to be black and possibly champagne? Not too sure about that since I love orange roses and want those in my bouquet.. Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  :)

  • you can have black and champagne as your official colors, and still include the orange roses in your boquet :)  You are not limited to "2 colors" and the orange will add a highlight.  Congrats on the venue-- that can be thr trickiest part so you are off to a good start!

<div>In fact, you don't need to have official colors at all.  As long as the colors you choose for your wedding all fit within the same color palette, and align well with the overall look and feel of the wedding, I often find it silly that people choose "their colors."  Sometimes having "colors" feels matchy-matchy or overly coordinated--you already have a beautiful venu picked out, so it should be easy to work with, colors or not!</div>
  • And don't get too attached to a color scheme. I had a 7 month engagement and changed my 'colors' 3 times before settling on no 'official' colors and just chose things as I went along. My BM dresses ended up being gray and white, our invitations green, groomsmen in yellow suspenders, and our centerpieces yellow and white.
  • Ditto PP - I had a 14 month engagement and must have changed my mind on the colours and decor scheme about 5 times.
