only two more days and three days off!

I have class tonight, I did a bunch of homework last night- We didn't lay out dinner, so I'll probably pick something up on my way home from school.

    I'm giving a presentation in an hour and I'm super nervous. It's not even a big deal, I'm just not great at public speaking. Not really scared to speak, I just ramble a lot and start to see blank faces after awhile.
  • They're still driving me nuts, Once I get them trained I think it'll be fine :)

  • Good morning ladies! Spent some time on school work last night and looking at STDs. I wasn't going to do them, but now FI wants them since he found out that invitations don't go out until a couple of months before the wedding. (I think he's just excited to 'announce it') Long day today, I have a workshop that I have to go to tonight on the other side of Toronto, which doesn't start until six. So I probably won't be home till at least 10. :-(

    I picked up burgers on the way home from DD's dance class last night, hoping to shock my body into letting go of some of the pounds it's clearly so attached to. I tend to undereat, and have been upping my calories, but this was WAY more than I typically do. Hopefully it helps start the fires burning again!

    Then I promptly fell asleep on the couch and stayed asleep. Guess I needed it.

    Regular day today: work, no meetings though, home. Need to ask my final bridesmaid this week too. Nervous about it. I always get nervous about stuff like that, but speaking to large groups of people doesn't bother me in the least. I'm always worried that I'm incomveniencing people by asking them to do stuff.

  • Hi everyone!

    Just poking my head in, I haven't been in this forum yet :-)

    I mostly just don't want to be in the office at the moment.  It's cold, it's slushy and I would much rather be home cuddling with my FI & pup and doing wedding stuff :-)

    I made beef stew in the crockpot all day yesterday, that'll be our dinner tonight.

  • Morning!  Not much going on here.  H left for a business trip yesterday, so I'm on my own until Friday.  So I will most likely be eating crappy food all week.  Cooking for one is no fun.

    Britt, your hair looks really cute!  I need to do something different with my hair, but I don't know what.  My hair isn't the easiest to work with.

    Jenny, how many BMs are you having in your wedding?  I know it's easier said than done, but try not to be nervous.  BMs are our nearest and dearest family and friends.  Whenever i've been asked to be a BM, I never felt  like it was an inconvenience - I felt honored to be a part of their special day.

    We just got done moving offices so things are finally settling down again.

    but other than that nothing is real new.

    Saturday my dad and I are going to make our invitations, That will be fun.
    I get to also go meet with my DJ and talk to a caterer on Friday.

    I am excited about that!

  • Good morning!

    I got a mailer several weeks ago from Cardinal Fitness.  They are waiving the enrollment fee of $35 until tomorrow.  I need to go today.  I have to.  Make me go, ladies.

    I'm going through the last few remnants of the 'flu.  Weekend was a complete mess.  Feeling so much better but still tired.  Good jump start, albeit incorrect jump start, to weight loss.

    Swag - I hate public speaking too, regardless of how well I know the group, I still hate it. I never know where to look, what to do with my hands, etc. I took a public speaking class (online - talk about an oxymoron), and yea, it's still no help.

    I'm meeting an old coworker for lunch today, we're having Thai. I've been doing so good with my eating, I hate to go to lunch and not have as much control as briging my lunch, but I don't think Thai is too bad - except the oils they use to cook with.

    My STD's started getting delivered yesterday, I've had a few texts etc, about how good they look, so that makes me happy!

  • Morning everyone :)

    My Wednesday is just okay so far.  There is this really awful woman that I work with that gave me a big dose of attitude this morning, and I'm still trying to shake that off.  Tonight I'm going out with H and a friend for a few drinks, so hopefully that will cheer me up. 

    I went to the dentist yesterday for the first time in a very long time.  As expected, I have a few fillings and a root canal in my future.

    Sure thing, Marrin!  I need to make sure I keep up with my dental checkups from now on.  And I really ought to start going back to the gym too.  Having trouble with motivation on that front, but I did start a new healthy lunch routine this week, so hopefully that will help.

  • My problem in my shift work.  On the days when I have the afternoon/early PM shift of patients, I get home betw 8 and 9 PM.  I'm starving when I get home so I tend to eat too much late.  It's been suggested that I eat something at 6 PM but at that time I'm with patients and I cannot be eating.  My typical "lunch" time during my PM days is 3.15 PM, so by the time 8 or 9 rolls around I'm ready to eat the kitchen table.

    I have that schedule problem since I moved in with FI. He gets home between 7 and 8 and then we end up eating at like 9. By that time I am starving and then after I eat or stuff my face I pass out super quick.

    Pretty much me too tlc.  H generally does not wait for me on these days.  He'll eat at a normal time and then I'll eat when I get home.  I try to keep to the lighter side, but I really AM hungry by that time.  I tried sneaking the protein bars at 6 PM or so thinking it might stave off hunger and I'd be satisfied with less later, but no.
  • Yeah that kind of schedule can make it very difficult.  One big hurdle I have is that I am not hungry in the morning so I don't usually eat breakfast until like three hours after I wake up.  That is seriously bad for your metabolism, and since I've always been that way (and always been chunky) I'm betting it would help me a lot to change my breakfast habits.  I'm just not sure what to eat in the morning when I'm not hungry.  I love fruit smoothies but don't always have time to make them.  I'll have to think on it.

    What I'm doing for lunch now is make-ahead salad in a jar.  I bought an inexpensive vacuum sealer per the advice on this blog (click), and I am making salads for the whole week on Sunday afternoon.  Maybe if you did something like that (or really any good meal that you plan ahead of time) it will help you make better choices when you're starving.

    I'm planning to have three bridesmaids (DD is one) and a MOH. I've asked one bm and MOH, but MOH is newly pregnant and hasn't given an answer yet because she'll be VERY pregnant. I've made it clear that whether she decides to do it or not  I will understand and love her. I'm so excited that she's having a baby, and I want her to understand that, but I also wanted her to know that she's the one I wanted to stand beside me.

    I just hate asking anyone to do anything for me. I always feel like I'm imposing, no matter what it is. that's just me!

  • Marrin - can you grab something like a protein bar or apple to eat right when you leave so then you're not hungry when you get home?

    I leave work at 5 and have an hour commute and go straight to the gym. When I leave work, I usually have a protein bar or apple, something to get me through my workout as I've usually had lunch at 12 and maybe a small snack of almonds or something at 3ish.

    I work out and then go home and have a green monster shake, but change up the fruit in it. Usually its 2 C spinach, 3 oz greek yogurt, 1/4 C blueberries, 2 tbsp flax seed blended with ice and a bit of almond milk. You can't taste the spinach and the whole thing is super filling and full of nutrients...just an idea.

    I miss out having dinner with FI and my daughter, but FI is good about cooking for them and if there are leftovers I usually grab that for lunch the next day. Except lately, I've been having chicken breast with salsa and half a baked potato for lunch because I'm really trying to cut back.
