new attempt at weight loss

well here we go again. this time im trying slim quick 25 lb challenge. i hope to be atleast 30 lbs smaller by summer. have any of you guys tried it? does it really work?

  • Sounds like a gimmick - honestly eating healthy and exercising is going to do the most good for you in the long run.

    If you haven't already you should check out the Getting In Shape board. The ladies over there are very friendly and informative.

    Also, if you haven't tried calorie counting, that has helped me IMMENSLY! I use myfitnesspal.com, others use stuff like spark people, I do highly recommend it though. Just being aware of how much I'm eating tends to help a lot.

  • Anything that has you dropping more than a pound or two a week is probally not a heathly diet.  Sure, you can drop weight fast, and it's not always by starving yourself, but it'll go right back on just as quickly the moment you let it slide.  Your best bet is actually changing your eating and exercise habits, even if it's just a little at a time.

    And yeah, calorie counting is super helpful!  I've found that if I'm really craving something, I can usually adjust what I'm eating that day to fit in enough to satisfy the craving without wrecking the amount of calories I take in.  I use myfitnesspal.com too (though i really need to pick that back up again), and it tracks exercise as well.
