Hi everyone, lurker here.
Quick version: We are having a tiny, family-only wedding. We'd like to send out a card (or do something? any ideas?) after the wedding to announce that we are married. What would be the best way to word it?
The extended version:
I am a bit of a lurker but have a question and I figured this was the best board to ask.
My fiancé and I are getting married at the registry office with just our immediate families present (not even aunts/uncles/cousins). We're keeping it very low key, we haven't had an engagement party or anything like that.
When we got engaged we rang our nearest and dearest and texted our friends.
After we're married, we'd like to announce that fact somehow to our community. A SMS seems a bit tacky. My cousin who eloped sent around a photo of him and his wife and that seemed like a nice way of doing it.
My question is, what would you do in this situation? And if it is appropriate to send out some kind of card/announcement, how would you word it so it's not all "we had a wedding but you weren't invited?"
Thanks in advance for your advice.
