Anna Maria, FL?

I am helping my best friend get started on her wedding planning since I have helped to plan a few myself. It will be a destination wedding and she is pretty set on having it at the Sandbar Restaurant but we are trying to get some opinions or feedback on this area or even the restaurant itself. They will be getting married on the beach as well. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! She is hoping to reserve her date sometime next week just need to iron out a few details. Thanks!!!

    YES YES YES

I just had my reception at the Sandbar last saturday and it was AMAZING.  ALl our guest were from out of town (boston area) and had never been to a place like that before, they just could not get over how beautiful it was.  Patti, the coordinator, is amazing to work with, very laid back and honest.  The food was incredible (I have never seen such humungous scallops!).  We were looking for a fun, unique setting , with kinda a laid back atmostphere, but still maintain the "wedding" factor and thats exactly what we got.  I put a lot of work into the details (some reception decor) but honestly , they did the rest.   I had people coming up to me saying this was the best wedding and the most beautiful reception site they have ever been to.  That was my goal!

So I would tell your friend to go for it!

Did you have your reception at the Pavillion? If so did you have people walking through that area or no?

Yes our reception was at the Pavilion closest to the actual restaurant.  It is semi-private from the restaurant, but people can still obviously see from the beach.  I did not feel as though the public was walking through the reception, however, that may be the case in the ceremony, since that is righto n the beach.  We got married in a church, so we didn't have that problem.  However while we were taking pictures, there were lots of people on the beach, but I didn't mind it.  I liked having a boat in a pictures, or a little girl making a sandcastle.  But our photographer did her best to get just us.  Most everyone there is super respectful, and while we had a few people come watch our dancing and such from the beach, I never felt like it was "wedding crashers" or anything like that.

I am getting married there next week. I have seen many ceremonies done on the beach there. People are respectful and stand to the side. It is not a private ceremony. So far everything has gone great and most of my vendors are on the island. Feel free to pm me for more information.
