Marriage Class this wknd!

So for all the other ladies that have to take a class. Its that time for FI and I. I know we are 9 mos out but with FI in the Military and with him getting his next orders in Dec. and after months of searching I finally found one that works with his schedule. Yay for that..... however I am nervous
Even though FI and I have been together for 6.5 yrs (long distance for 5) I am affraid we are going to get blind sided by some of the material or fail something haha.
This is normal right?!
:)

what class are you talking about? the marriage retreat? or the meetings with the priest or married couple (where you take the personality test and they counsel you based on your answers)?

We already did the marriage retreat and actually surprisingly had a good time :) we are not super religious but ours was lead by a family/marriage counselor and was actually helpful. we also sat at a table with a bunch of fun couples so our "discussions" were upbeat and funny, yet honest. it wasn't a complete waste of a weekend like we had originally anticipated :)

Ours was very discussion based in small groups (3 couples and us). There were no right/wrong answers, it was more sharing how you communicate and how you can improve things. It isn't bad or hard in any way! Don't fret :)

I was worried about "failing" the classes too :) We did pre cana (Catholic marriage prep) through my church here in DC. It was actually an enjoyable experience, and it brought up some topics that are good to talk about. They never shoved religion down our throats -- it was a lot of talk about communicating with each other, and thinking about what things you might encounter down the road.

Oh yeah...we were definitely afraid about failing too. One big thing for us was we were VERY careful not to say that we had lived together before, haha. It was like we were afriad we wouldn't be allowed to be married or something. It ended up not being a big deal at all and other couples there had been in the same situation.

Thanks Ladies! I have attended private Catholic school my whole life so I know the drill but I really don't want to talk about natural planning for 10 hrs. haha
I had a lecture on it in High School and College. The College one was a little but more fun as there were a couple older non-tradional students that said they tried the natural planning and had child #2 or 4 within the 1st month of trying it. LoL

dcprep* we are doing Pre Cana as well in Oklahoma City where FI is stationed.
Its only a 1 dayer which is all FI had time for. So I'm hoping its less painful ! :)
