Getting married at 11 a.m.

Hello, Knotties. So I wanted my wedding to be more around 2 or 4 o'clock but the place that we really wanted to get married at only had an 11 o'clock opening and I realize that means getting up extra early to get things done. I was wondering if any of you have had this same time of day and what was your morning like? Were you rushed because it was so early or was it still plenty of time to get stuff done? Thanks in advance

We were married at 11:30 and, looking back, I wouldn't change it to a later time at all...

I was married back in April of 2011 at 11AM and it worked out really well for us.  We were able to decorate the reception venue the night before and it really helped that it was just across the street from the church we got married at.  Got hair done at 8AM and our photographer came in at 9AM to shoot the details of the wedding.  It was really nice to have a 2 person team for my photography because while one person was shooting me at the salon, the other shooter was at the church doing the groomsmen shots.  I too initially thought it was early, but my husbands side are farmers and this was a time that wouldn't hinder their crop planting.  The reception venue that I had picked out said if we did a lunch reception that we could have the space for free and all we would have to pay for is the food!  All in all......I wouldn't have changed the time and it was a great time by all!

Just decided on an 11am wedding b/c that is the only time our chuch had. I was so annoyed with this at first b/c our reception isn't until 5pm and didn't want to lose our guest impulse if you will.

We aren't going to take any pictures beforehand but just relax and get ready. Pictures will kill a good couple hours after the ceremony. We plan on giving our guest "lunch boxes" and a map of things to do around the city until our reception.

    I refuse to do a day reception b/c I want to "dance the night away" and ... serve tons of booze! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

</div><div>So you are sticking your guests with an ungodly gap just so you can have your evening reception?  This is incredibly rude.
