Is anyone else getting married at Disneyland?

We have decided to do the whole affair at Disneyland:)-a 3 day extravaganza!  We are renewing our vows but never got to have our wedding.  We have 4 kids, 18, 16, 15 and 11 so (there are so many of them they make up most of our wedding party!

I was just wondering if anyone else has started their disney planning?

Not sure of the exact location, but thought we would stay at the disneyland grand...any thoughts?
Michelle:)

Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun!

...I'm not too familiar with Disney & their venues, but I'm sure there will be someone on here that can help you out! Good luck & Welcome to the Board!!
  • Thanks ladylulu!

I saw a book that they have for disney weddings on the worldofdisney site-might just have to get that!
I wanted to wait until at least July (which is still months and months away) and get together with the disney wedding people and check it all out:)

You know Michelle, you can never start too early!!!

I got engaged Dec. 2008 (Wedding in April 2010) and time flew by... The sooner you learn about things and their cost, the sooner you can book, or look for 'plan B' ..So look into the site and possibly meet with the disney wedding people ASAP. I'm sure they do book way ahead of time (Esp. in Dec. Christmas time??) and that way you have your date booked! :)

I dont know much about their weddings but my real estate agent was telling me about how her daughter got married there and it was beautiful. She showed us pics and it looked super pretty.

its beautiful....i looked into it and they have different venue areas to choose from. a little to expensive for our budget though : (....just google disneyland weddings and i believe they have info on disneyland.com.
  • Well since it is going to be small and we wouldn't really need a big hall for a reception or catering, dj all that stuff.  I thought we would all go eat somewhere there...or at downtown disney.  I think the only nicer dining is rainforest cafe (downtown disney) or the blue bayou (pirates of the carribean).
Has anyone eaten at the higher-end restaurants at disney or downtown disney?
I don't really care if it is a super fancy dinner-I would rather do something fun!

There's that Mexican restuarant in Downtown Disney, it has an upper seating area that is super nice! You might look into that :)

    Congrats and Welcome! :)
  • Thanks MC108!  I will look into it:)

I kind of like the idea of the rainforest cafe because it is so unique but my hubby doesn't remember liking much of their food (and I suppose he needs to eat dinner too!) There is only going to be about 25 of us-is rainforest cafe too tacky for a wedding dinner?

There is a nice New Orleans style restaurant in Downtown Disney that is nice on the inside and has great food. DH and I go for the filet when we go to Disneyland. Yum!
  • ooooo that sounds good...do you remember what it's called?

I don't think that it is tacky at all to go to Rainforest Cafe if that's what you guys want! If you were have 60+ people it would be awkward, but with 25 it isn't bad. Just my $0.02 ;)

  • Well because we are doing most of the event with our kids-although they are all a little older and will be 13, 17, 18 & 20...I want it to be something more fun-not too fancy:)
