Please rec a photographer and/or videographer in north/central NJ!

I am having such a hard time finding a photographers work I like. The 2 I liked are already booked for my date:( I like candid shots, vibrant, magazine worthy. I guess I'd be willing to pay around 5 or 6k for total for both. So far my reasearch has had me come up with zilch. Thanks ladies!

I really love Vanessa Joy's work. She was out of my price range. Everyone is going to recommend their photographer. Lol My photographer is KS Photo Studio and her stuff, in my opinion, looks like magazine photos bc of the vibrant colors. There is another photographer I liked that was about 6k that I liked but I can't remember his name. For videographer....I really liked GT Modern Creations but they were unavailable for my day. I am using John Jae videography

I absolutely loved Vanessa Joy's work as well, but sadly she is out of my price range too. As is her husband Rob Adams, both are amazing.

I will definitley check out KS Photo Studio, Ive heard good things about GT.. I will check out all your recs, thank you so much!

I'm sorry. I just saw that u said 5 to 6k for BOTH. That's why I said Vanessa Joy. Lol My videographer John Jae and my photographer COMBINED total a little over 5,000. Check out KS Photo Studio on Facebook bc that is where she updates the most. We just took our engagement pics in Central Park with her on Sunday. It was freezing and she was still awesome! She got on the ground in the snow and ice O_o

Another photographer I contacted and liked that lots of people recommend is Jason Rhee. He is in your price range. I didn't book with him bc I met with mine first and felt comfortable with her.

We're using http://www.theartistgroup.com/ for photo & video. They're in that price range. We got a discount on our video bc we booked them for photo. We also got another 10% off because they were referred to us.

We went with Louis Schroder for photography (aren't doing a videographer). He's very photojournalistic and his candids are gorgeous (that's what we wanted - lots of very natural pics of our friends and family looking awesome). We did our engagement session with him and really loved the results too. Neither of us particularly like being in pictures and I, personally, think we came out looking great. I can PM you a few if you'd like. We're paying around $3k for his services, which includes a half day of a second photog.

We are using Abella Studios. We aren't doing video, but they do offer it and depending on the packages you pick, they are def in your price range.

I got a great package within my budget (below $4k) which is why I never made it to meet with Jason Rhee or anyone else. Kinga is really sweet and if you give her a budget she can work with you.

Just to give you an idea...
my package includes 2 photographers all day
3 albums (1 for us and 2 parent albums)
all our pics edited and on a site but we can use the prints however we want...
photo montage for our reception
engagement pics (we took them Sunday in Central Park)
DVD with all images

I personally (and whole-heartedly) recommend Lifting the Veil Productions (veilproductions.com) -- they offer both videography and photography and are extremely affordable for the amazing profucts they offer. Definitely check them out, I am sure you will love them! I know I do!

Our photographer was Erin H Photography and was totally amazing! Erin, Vanessa Joy, and Kate Connelly are all friends and have very similar style photography. We loved working with Erin and I can't recommend her enough. She'd definitely be in your price range.

For video, we used GT Modern Creations and also loved working with them. GT and Erin (our photographer) worked together for the first time at our wedding and worked fabulously well for only having met that day. Another videographer I looked into was Michael Simons. He offers different price levels that may work within your budget. Plus, he requests a majority of the payment months after your wedding once the video is done so that may be something to consider in regards to your budget.

We are using Susan Tibak of Something Blue Photography. We just had our engagement session yesterday and she already started posting on facebook, where you can see them! She is booked for 2013, so I'm not sure when your wedding date is. She is VERY reasonable and so much fun to work with. Her pictures are absolutely stunning, and she spends a ton of time editing them so that they are perfect.

You might want to look at Robert Wayne Photography. We found him through the many recommendatinos on this forum and are very excited about our choice. By the time we're done with albums, parent albums, etc., our total price will probably be in the $3000 - $4000 range. He only does photography, but for your budget, you shouldn't have trouble finding a videographer, too. We're just having family do "news coverage" kind of video of just the important moments.
