AATB

The lady in your signature was on Anderson cooper today. She was so funny! He sent her to a high class restaurant in New York. She asked the chef if they had breadsticks like the olive garden. She was great.

Re: AATB

  • Oh Marilyn!  Yes :)  She writes for the newspaper in my college town and she's always kicked so much ass.  That's why I found it hysterical when she went viral, lol.

She's really been handling all the hullaballoo around her Olive Garden review like a fucking champ!

  • With your Lime, Steph's Avocado and Sept's onion you guys could make an awesome salsa! Not sure what to do with Rayne's honeydew.

  • Yes she has! She was so gracious and funny. She is also freaking honest to a fault and the chef from the fancy restaurant was actually really nervous for her review. That's awesome she is from your college town. That's so fun.

  • I love Olive Garden. That was our engagement night dinner. Tour of Italy, salad, and of course the awesome breadsticks.

  • I saw some preview videos of Anderson's show yesterday where she was asking the waiter about "Do you have breadsticks, like at the Olive Garden?" and "Are they warm, like at the Olive Garden?"  SO FUNNY.  I DIE.  She kills me.

Yes and he brought her out a fancy salad and she was like, "I just can never get excited for a salad." she was scared to ask for a doggie bag at the end but did and was so impressed it was a shopping bag, not a plastic bag.

Anderson is sending her on a cruise to Italy so she can review some places there.

  • Oh I can't wait for her to go on that cruise!!  When she went to New York they sent another GF Herald reporter with her to take pictures and blog and video blog with her about the trip.  And it was all the biggest story on the paper's website.  I bet they do the same thing for her Italian cruise.

I ordered a T-shirt the other day from the Herald website with Marilyn's face on it that says "I've been a lot of things... but never viral!"  All proceeds for the shirts go to research for RLS.

  • What I find so funny about all of this blowing up is that Marilyn has been working for this paper forEVER, so she's been to every single restaurant in Grand Forks several times.  She's "reviewed" (they're more like just news stories about eating at these places) everything from the nicest restaurant in town, Sander's, or the dumpy Red Pepper to Taco Bell.  And yet when the Olive Garden comes to town, that's the one that catches fire.

It must be an olive garden thing. My grandpap loves the garden. It is his place to go and we go everytime I come up to PA. This is random but I remember the Andrew Firestone season of the bachelor. He asked one of the girls her favorite Italian resturant and she said the olive garden. I remember her quote mbeing all over the place.

Do they post her reviews o line? If so, do you have the link?
