Anyone already have their planner and thinks they're great and willing to share their information?

I've been dragging my feet with planning and after the holidays I need to buckle down. We both travel a lot with our jobs and I always knew we'd get a planner. We have a pretty big wedding budget and the fact we're having it at my parent's home (in Maryland) we don't have the cost of a venue to pay for so I'd love to use some of that towards making my life easier. I thought about booking someone at about 6 months out but after returning home this week for the holidays my mom has given me the reality check that I'm falling behind. Thanks Jess 11/3/12

    They have a website.

    I had my first meeting with Lorinda today and she is so sweet and I can tell she will do an amazing job!

    Contact them, you will not be dissappointed!

    We used "Simply Elegant  Affordable Events" she is in MD, loved this company, Everyone in our office has used them, as well Worth every dime spent.

    When is your wedding?  Some vendors book about a year in advance.  Try Bright Occasions - I used them for partial planning and day-of.   Did a great job, always quick to communicate, gave great ideas and provided great vendor recommendations.

    Picking a planner is really based on how much involvement you want the planner to be in the process/decision making of your wedding.  Terri Bergman is a great planner to work with on all levels and is very helpful assisting brides-to-be create their dream wedding

    I have Towanna Burthey with Bella Chic Wedding Design. I can't say how much I love her, but I'll keep it brief:
    She deals with all of my vendors, books appointments, follows up on info, and if I have to meet someone without her, she gives me a checklist of all my concerns and questions in case I forget.

    My wedding isn't until next year, but she provides me with step by step timelines (in short increments) so I don't get overwhelmed.  She's by my side for every bridal show, answers every email, phone call, text, facebook message, etc. superquick. She tells me what we can make vs. what we should buy, and above all else she seems sincerely as excited about my wedding as I am.

    I would recommend Creative Parties in Bethesda. They have lots of resources and invitations etc.
