Am I deficient?! I can't make the bottom strip stay on my teeth and the gel is making my tounge hurt and they make me drool. Advice on how to use them?
The only way I could make it stay is with my invisalign braces. I originally had them for a whitening treatment that costs a ridiculous amout so now it just helps me keep the damn things on my teeth.
They really just pretty much suck. But it's worth it if you can get used to it. I got the 3D kind with stay put strips that really do stay in place. I've tried them in the past and this new kind makes them a million times more tolerable.
I seriously hated them. The only advice I can give is that I did not use them as directed... I probably did them every couple of days, and they still made my teeth very white! Besides, it is your top teeth people see more anyway.
No, totally not deficient on your part! I hate those things and have the same problem. It's natural for the saliva to pool in the bottom of your mouth, so it like dissolves the goo and you don't want to swallow the bleach so you have to just spit it out. Then the strip is gets loose and useless. And it burns the crap out of your tongue!
I used to fold up a piece of paper towel or napkin and put it on my tongue to soak up the spit until the 10 minutes were up, or spit into a cup (gross, I know). But it helped keep the strip somewhat "dry" and in place.
Or you can get the Advanced Seal Whitestrips. Those are the only ones I've found that stay where they're supposed to. Good luck!
Taco cat: Always a palindrome. ALWAYS, okay J&K?
"cool......insult my size 2 body or my natural brown hair...or the fact that my parents own a country club, I have no budget for a wedding, and I have horses. I really dont care. Its better then having roots." ~ futurepivko
Hmm. Thanks for the advice! I think I am going to start alternating and do the top and bottom at different times. That way I don't have to focus on them both at the same time.
I thought the same thing, but was desperate and thought I'd try them. I was shocked at how much better they are than the other kind. I think they are a bit more expensive, but they are totally worth it.
Ack, 30 minutes sucks. That's just too long to have to focus on not drooling.

That's how I know that shits hard! I've had to install a waterproof guard for my keyboard.

Paper towel pieces are your friend, I'm telling you.

I'm late buuut...I've used them for years, I never, ever use the bottom ones because they don't show as much. I've never had too much of a problem getting the top to stick or sensitivty problems.

Do they make your teeth sensitive?
