Pretty Dresses?

I am looking for pretty dresses for my Shower/RD

and I see these pretty pink dresses that I love on ModCloth, but I am pretty hesitant to buy something online without trying it on. Plus all the dresses I want aren't in stock and won't come in stock until April.... Anyone have anything to say about Mod Cloth?

http://www.dillards.com/product/Chelsea-Violet-Lace-RuffleNeck-Dress_301_-1_301_503123742 (I actually tried it on at dillards and it isn't super short in me like it is on the model)

Oh, and if you want to suggest pretty dresses... I like Pink, White  and another color(I don't want it to look like a JOP dress), and black... If you can't tell.. I like lace..and overall pretty. I have a nice waist so I like to show it off.

Re: Pretty Dresses?

  • I like #2 and #5! I personally wouldn't want to wear white for wedding events until the actual wedding day when I'm wearing my wedding dress.

I would also be very hesitant about buying clothes online. You just never know if it's not a brand you wear a lot. Like today Kara and I were at Old Navy and I found this tank. I usually wear smalls or mediums in shirts, but I ended up needing an XS with this particular shirt. With my 34D boobies, I'm not sure how that makes sense. But if I go over to Hollister, I pretty much have to buy a XXXXXXL.

  • Oooo I love the third one!  I feel like that would be better for a rehearsal dinner than a shower since it's black.  I like the first one a lot too! I think that would be good for the shower.

I've never bought from ModCloth and I am often hesitant to order clothes online, especially dresses.  I have long legs so I never know if a dress is going to look cute and classy, or trashy until I try it on haha!

Hey Amanda, If you go with mod cloth, use promo code "modprom" to get 10 bucks off :
  • I keep wanting to buy stuff from ModCloth too but i'm scared. One of these days I'm just going to do it so I can have the experience!! Haven't had a chance to look at the dresses yet but I can't wait to check them out! Yay dresses!

  • I bought a Dress off ModCloth and it was like a t-shirt when I got it. LoL it was VERY SHORT. It was easy to return though and it's free return shipping.
  • Yeah, I think ModCloth tends to run a little small and a little short. I would take my measurements and use the size guide. Almost every review of dresses I read on there has something about them running about a size smaller than true. However, like Shan said, I think their return policy is pretty good.

  • I bought this dress (clicky) from bodycentral yesterday for my going away dress- I bought it in white and also got a wide white belt with a flower on it- I also got a black belt and a peach belt with flowers (they were 9 dollars each) to repurpose the dress to wear it later :) The dress comes in the red which is really pretty, and black as well, or you could go with the belts. Also, body central does a 10 percent military discount, just FYI :)

  • I've bought from Modcloth before. The thing to remember is that each thing is from a different designer, and thus the sizes run differently. Their customer service is great too.
