So I'm trying to plan a budget destination wedding in the Bahamas. I have no idea where to start. Help please.

Hey Lexi. I'm not doing it in the Bahamas, but here http://www.dwbridesbio.com/ you can find a list of all the girls who have/did do a Bahamas wedding and hunt around for their bios. While waiting for the Bahamas/Budget ladies to step in, I hope that helps!

Start with your guest list and resort or accomdations. Those will be your 2 biggest expenses.

Travel agents are a great help two, a lot of the girls here use Beachbum Vacations and Destinationwedding.com, I can't speak for them personally but it seems the girls who have used them have great reviews. (I myself went with a local wedding planner who specializes in Destination Weddings because I didn't want to be tied down to the hotels vendors)

Welcome!
I agree with the PP's. I started with the guest list and accommodations where the DW will be. From there it let me know how much I was going to have to spend on other areas and where to save. If you go with a resort check with their WC and they can get different options for you.

totally agree, formulate a budget, look at the temps/climate, hurricane season, contact a TA...I used VIP Vacations and Jennifer. Absolutely check around!

Thank you all so much. I actually went and talked to a TA. It was really helpful. I do have a question though. Is it customary to pay for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to fly out to the wedding?

Usually it's up to the bridesmaids/groomsmen to come up with the money to go.
