*Dayton brides* reception venues?

Does anyone have any Dayton reception venue recommendations? Any places to avoid? FI and I are getting married in my church in downtown Dayton, so we'd need somewhere close to that. We're tentatively thinking about bringing in outside catering, so does anyone know of any places that allow that?

I'm getting married at Yankee Trace on March 5. They are located by the Dayton Mall and have been WONDERFUL! Jason is in charge there and is so accomodating. Definitely look into them.

When is your wedding? How many people are you expecting?

I am also getting married in a church *close* to downtown. We chose Country Club of the North for our reception venue. Its absolutely beautiful there. They provide the food and drinks, so you dont have to worry about outside catering.

Some other venues downtown to check into - Top of the Market, Schuster Center, Dayton Art Institute.

    Good luck!

We're looking at spring of 2012 with no more than 150 people. We are interested in visiting Top of the Market but Schuster Center and the Art Institute are probably out of our budget range. Do either of you know anything about general rental fees at the Art Institute?

    Thanks for your recs!

We looked into the DAI and it was definitely out of our budget--something like $4000 for all the spaces and a minimum of $2500.  And I think that was before food, alcohol, etc.

We're going with Carillon Park Transportation Center for our reception.  They have a list of preferred caterers that you have to pick from (I reccommend Elite--they've been great so far; I'll know more after the actual wedding).

If you want something more unigue, maybe the Cannery Art & Design Center.  It's downtown.  Top of the Market could be cool, too, though we never got any specifics for that one.

    good luck!
