How many e-pics should you expect?

Hi, everyone!  We had our e-pics taken about a month ago.  We added a one hour photo session to our wedding package.  The photographer had another girl come along, who was learing some photo techniques, so we had 2 taking pics.  I was a little surprised when the pics were ready, because we had expected a lot more than what we got.  How many finished/edited pictures did you get from your e-pics?
Thanks!

About 100. In my experience 50-100 is average.
  • For a one hour shoot, 50 is a high number. Think about how that averages out - almost a photo a minute, not taking any of the travel time between locations/spots into account. I think any more than that means you're probably getting a lot of repeats or similar shots. Your photog may not have provided you with any that the other photographer took, especially if he/she was learning - most photographers aren't going to want to mix their work and a newbie's because then people viewing your photos might attribute the newbies work to her.
  • I think we got 75 back. (1 hour photo shoot)

  • Smartly - smart :) for putting in how long your shoot was. Mine was a little over an hour. Sparkling, How many did you receive? Are you upset with the quality as well as the quantity?
  • we had 2 hours and a little over 300 pics.
  • I always tell people to focus on quality over quantity in photography.  For E-pics, it really depends on the level of post production and retouching.  If the photographer is more geared towards portraits and retouches EVERYTHING, 30 proofs for a one  hour session is reasonable.  If you are getting "straight out of the camera" type shots, perhaps only color corrected, you may get more.  Anyone getting over 100 images in a one hr session is getting many duplicate images and perhaps even ones that should of been culled out.  This is the sign of an amateur photographer.
