Just got engaged and looking to be married in June or July 2013

Since I am assuming most of you are planning your weddings now....how feasible is it to think that "good" venues would still be available for June and/or July 2013 at this point?

congratulations! I would say if you are open about the date you have a pretty good chance of finding something you are happy with...but I would start looking asap!

I am having a June wedding and I booked my venue about a month ago but places were still available and I am on the Cape. (I ended up off Cape but not because of availability).

My bigger issue was other vendors. The florist I really wanted is not available, two photographers I liked were not available, the dj I wanted was not available one of the dates I was considering so I went with the date they were...so I would get on that quickly too.

I think you have a chance I would definitely start working on finding a venue. I am getting married this weekend and booked my venue last May but they still had a few other dates available in early June and late August. Best of luck!

I'd start looking ASAP. I'm getting married June 1, 2013 and booked in January. I got the last Saturday available at my venue. My first choice DJ was not available, but I had no problem getting my first choice photographer or videographer. I think if you're flexible you'll be okay.

My advice is to think about the big picture. Our caterer, photographer and band were our most important factors, not necesarily the date. We narrowed it down to 2 venues, and then chose one based on availability of those 3. It was a lot of back and forth between the venders to make sure they could do the dates, but worth it! If you are open to date, you have a lot more options with venues!

Congratulations! You can definitely find a venue but as other posters said; I would start looking asap. If you are open to Friday/Sunday you will have more flexibility with venues and vendors. We are getting married next June and booked our venue in December of 2011, but only because we got engaged around then and wanted a summer wedding. Summer of this year would have been too rushed. Congrats! I am also getting married June 2013 and booked my venue in January. My venue was already booking up but we were able to get our date. A few other places we looked only had a few June dates open. I agree with PPs if you are flexible with Friday or Sundays you should have no problem but I'd be looking and securing a date ASAP!

We got engaged in August 2010 and booked our venue May 2011 for an August 2012 wedding and dates were already filling up.

You can find what you are looking for, but you need to start seriously looking now and narrow your search to the most important things for you. For me it was the venue and the photographer. I'm not sure what I would have done if my photographer wasn't available for our date.

COngrats. As everyone said a lot of it is based on you and your flexibility. Do you have a certain date that you are looking for? Probably a lot of Sats may be booked but there may be a friday or sunday avail that are less expensive too.

Know about about many people you are going to be inviting that is going to help with the venue hunt. Also set a budget...that is going to help you out in the long run. If you need any suggestions let me know Id be more than happy to help

I got engaged in early July, just booked a venue this week for Sunday of next Memorial Day weekend (5/26/13). I'd say it's definitely doable. The date was very important for me, so I only looked at places that were available that day.

In terms of vendors, all the caterers I've contacted were available (from my venue's required list), most of the rabbis were taken, but we have found 2 that are affordable and available. Most of the photographers we've called are available, but we're still working on making a short list.

We haven't contacted any DJs, hair/makeup, or florists yet however.
