Wedding Woes

dh is having an affair

with a dude named mr. clean and his magic eraser.

we went back to clean up the old apt this weekend, and i asked dh to buy some magic erasers.  he had never seen one before, was AMAZED and is now obsessed.

we've seriously had like 10 conversations about mr. clean, his eraser and what can be cleaned with it.  dh is all, "how about THE CAR?  what about the COMPUTER?  can it be used dry?  tile?  carpeting?"

i would say "shut up" but he's cleaning everything as a magic eraser testing ground so i will shut up.

    Hee.

You know, I tried to get some black marks off of the floor and it didn't work. Please ask him for tips.

You should shave your head for his birthday one year.  He would love it.

Don't forget the ear ring, zsa.

Seriously, the magic eraser lives up to it's name. The first product that rocked my OCD world was the swiffer (I had hard wood floors at the time). Then, the magic ersaer. After that, the dyson.

Since the Holy Trinity (swiffer, eraser, dyson) there hasn't been another addition to cleaning products that can stand up to those three.

Min, I find my microfiber cloths and mop to be highly superior to the Swiffer (even though I own and use Swiffers on a weekly basis).

</div><div>And Hmo, we had some woman come to the door a couple of months back selling some cleaning product, and she kept cleaning stuff on my house, even scuffs off my car. I didn't intend on buying it, but I let her keep going.

Min & Nicole - have you seen the Swiffer SweeperVac?  It's pretty awesome for hardwoods:

Well, H does the cleaning now that he is a househusband. Let him deal with inferior tools. I'll ask for info about these microfiber dealios when I have to go back to cleaning.

But why would I buy a sweeper vac?  I have a $400 vac and a mop.  I'm good.

Good point, though the swiffer vac is a lot lighter than a regular vac.  Big plus for me, since I hate hauling out the full size vacuum.  Plus, you can swiffer and vac at the same time - one less step. I'm with you on the microfiber, though.  I just bought some microfiber cloths to use instead of disposable swiffer pads.

I once used a Magic Eraser to get rid of some permanent marker that some asshole kids had drawn onto a wall in our first house.

I scrubbed so hard that it took off my fingerprints along with the ink. And I'm only half joking. Those suckers are abrasive as hell.

They are not to be used on glossy paint. It removes the stain and the gloss.

Because it's easier to sweeper vac than to sweep, then vacuum up all the dust with a full size vacuum, and then have to mop on top of it. <div>
</div><div>And I only have vinyl tiles in a small kitchen. I less than three the sweeper vac. </div>

I think the swiffer vac is overrated. The battery only lasts for about 1.5 vacuums, so it basically has to be plugged in all the time. Also, the vac portion is too big to get under the oven and fridge like the regular swiffer can, so I feel like I'm missing stuff. I still feel like I have to go over the floor 3 times (sweeper vac, dry swiffer, wet swiffer) before it's clean to my liking.
