July 2012 Weddings

maybe a weird question

This might sound a little weird.  I am working on my inner envelopes and I was wondering if I should put my parents names on the envelope or could I put Momma and Daddy since you don't call your parents by their first names.

  • Hm, I don't know how to answer this, I hadn't considered sending invites to my parents.  Can we add that as a follow up question?

  • I said put their real names. If you were having someone else send out the invitations they wouldn't put mommy and daddy.

Just curious, are you hand delivering them to your parents or mailing?

send an invitation to your parents.  If nothing else they will want it as a keepsake. Also mail it so it has the postage mark as well.

  • I think it's sweet to put it if that's what you call them still! I agree that it feels weird to put Mr. and Mrs. whatever for your own parents. If we had done inner envelopes, I probably would have put "Mom" or something similar for my mom.

Good advice, I'm not the keepsake type so I never think of little things like that.  Thanks! Smile

  • I just put Mr. and Mrs. on my parents' inner envelope. I actually just wrote Mr. and Mrs. on everyone's, instead of like Uncle Dan, etc.

  • I'm not doing inner envelopes but I probably would have put Mom and Dad on the inner envelope.  We are still mailing an invitation to both sets of our parents, I know they'll want them for keepsakes and we also need to know their meal choices.

  • Thanks!  I went ahead and put Momma and Daddy on them since I call them that.  I apperciate everyone's help!    =)
