Human hair extensions: HELP!

I just had my hair trial today with 18 inch clipon human hair extensions. I found out I have to purchase these separately but I've never used them before so I'm wondering where to purchase them from? I need a full head of hair's worth.

What do you mean purchase them separately? I'm not as familiar with extensions but the ones I bought are full head. And most of them are, I believe. I can't help you with where to buy them as mine were from a local beauty supply store. I know of people who bought them off Ebay but I didn't want to risk it.
I would search beauty supply for your area.

  • My hairstylist bought mine for me and I reimbursed her. Could you ask your hairstylist to buy the extensions or could you ask her to pick them for you?

  • When I say I have to buy them separately, I mean that they are not included in the cost of the hairstyle. I don't want to purchase them from the lady styling my hair because she said she would charge me $320. That seems a little steep. I'm trying to find a more affordable option.

  • MRICHER: How much did you pay for them? I'm trying to gauge how much I should pay for them.

  • my hairstylist only paid $60 for mine because I won't be wearing the extensions after the wedding. I'm just wearing clip in extensions though. Not sure what you're looking for.

  • Well, what do you mean by a full head of hair? I am only adding a few to create some drama and to make my hair a little thicker looking.

I think my stylist got the extensions at a beauty store. A girl at work got hers at Sally Beauty Supply. She said they're anywhere from $60 and upwards. I believe she said the really nice extensions were a $100. I would try going there to buy some and bring them to your stylist and aske her if they'll work but be sure to ask the store about the their return policy so you can bring them back if they won't work.

I would post something in the Wedding Beauty Board and your local board to see if they can help you.

  • Mine were less than $120 CDN at my local beauty store. It was a lot cheaper then Sally Beauty or Trade Secrets (not sure if you have that store). I wanted a full head because I wanted them for the length and the hairdresser said they'll keep the curls in longer. He used most of the pack, just left out two small ones.

You definitely shouldn't have to pay that much. The tip my hairdresser said to me is make sure it says 100% human hair and it doesn't matter of the quality because I got my hair to match the extensions. If you dye them, you'll need better quality ones but suggested against this if not needed.

Here's a pic of my hair trail with them in :
