My Attempt at Chit Chat - Reality TV Shows

I know we used to have a weekly Bachelor/ette thread and once it starts back up in January, I fully plan on doing this again.

But in the meantime, what do you watch?  DH and I always watch Survivor and I was super pumped this season because a guy I graduated high school with was on (Keith).  Unfortunately he got kicked off a few weeks ago but it was still cool that he was on!

Also, I will occasionally watch Toddlers and Tiaras for a bit after work.  These people are trainwrecks!  Holy moly rocky.

    I am about to expose myself here. Every bad reality tv show on, I watch. Usually the more trashier the better. All the real housewives, Teen mom, jersey shore, the real world, and The kardashian shows. 

    Fi works nights so I watch all these shows alone. He would never put up with watching them all.

    Oh yes, how could I have forgotten about Teen Mom!  The ultimate "wow, I guess my life choices aren't thad bad" show.

    Fun Fact:  DH watches bachelor/ette with me and really gets into it!!

    Fun fact: DH loves Teen Mom almost as much as I do.

    I've also watched every season of Survivor until this one. I saw the first 2 episodes, then we cancelled our cable because we were too busy to make it worth the expense.  I was also too busy to watch the episodes online. I will absolutely watch next season though.

    I get sucked into the Kardashian shows but never watch them religiously and I also get sucked into ANTM marathons. Oh and in the summer I lalways watch The Next Food Network Star.

    I don't watch TV much but I do catch Toddlers and Tiaras. THOSE PEOPLE ARE INSANE. I got FI hooked on it, though he still pretends like he doesn't like it.

    I'm always up for a Millionaire Matchmaker or Rachel Zoe Project marathon. I've been watching All American Muslim. I know it's sensationalized (after all, it's reality TV...) but I don't know anyone who is Muslim and I'm intrigued by the culture. Not sure it counts as reality TV, but I love Anthony Bourdain's new show The Layover. Mostly because he is so interesting but also because I have a celebrity crush on him. DH loves Tough Love. He always agrees with the host - probably because they have the same name - but mostly because he says the same things.

    I tihnk my favorite quote was a mom telling her 6 year old "you're not a stripper but you should still shake your booty."  Um WTF?  Pretty sure you just guaranteed your daughter would grow up to be a stripper.

    Had you heard about the controversy over AAM?  Apparently some crazy uber conservative Christian group in Florida thinks that all muslims are terrorists and hate that AAM is on the air because it's "brainwashing" people into thinking muslims are good people.  They got Lowe's to pull their advertising from the show.  So now people are boycotting Lowe's (rightfully so IMO)

    Also, the only episode of MM that I've seen had to deal with a former MSU basketball player. It pretty much proved he was as dumb as we all thought he was.

    Liz - their protests over the show backfired - because now I'm even more interested. And I remember the MM with the MSU BB player, Steve watched it too and laughed at what an idiot that guy was!

    I am completely addicted to cooking shows(Chopped, Top Chef, etc) and Bad Girls Club.

    I don't really follow any show episode-by-episode but I watch whatever is on. 

    My sister, mom, and I watch the Kardashians together but my dad refuses to be in the same room. 

    And last night I watched Toddlers in Tiaras -- they had a pagaent in Michigan! Apparently earning the "Princess" crown means your child is a loser (it's the lowest crown?) so one Mom threw a fit and said no crown was better than the Princess crown and they were going to leave it there and whatever. She's the type of mom that tanned her 23 month old... Yeah...

    I mostly watch true crime shows.

    Toddlers and Tiaras makes me incredibly angry.  I'm not sure what would drive a woman to dress her daughter up as a prostitute or put eyeliner on her five-year-old son.

    Greed.  Oh and trying to live vicariously through your children because your own life sucks.

    And Milsey - what I don't get is that the kids on those shows probably would understand that "princess" is bad, ya know?  As a little girl I would have been ecstatic to be labeled a princess and get a crown and would have thought I did really well.  So it's the parents that are ruiing this for the kids.

    any show with Chef Ramsay...I can't seem to get enough of his a**hole charm.

    FI and I justify it by saying he'd like to own his own restaurant someday so we're learning what NOT to do by watching the shows :-D

    My FI and I watch every trashy reality tv show there is. It makes us feel better about our lives lol

    Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, Real World, 16 and Pregnant. Then there are some "normal-ish" ones like Hardcore Pawn, Kitchen Nightmares, Anything on HGTV. We're so weird lol
