Theme

Im having trouble making our ideas mesh together we met at disney when we were doing our internships and then we got engaged at target field and we are huge disney junkies and baseball fans and we want touches of both at the wedding and recepetion but we dont it to look like a hodge podge mess!

Help! :)

We have TC bear from the twins coming to the reception also

Re: Theme

  • Honestly, I don't think weddings need a theme. The theme is "we're getting married" - anything else can look like a child's birthday party. If you insist on doing a theme, keep is small and tasteful - maybe a Disney cake topper or a Twins garter?

    <div>Agree with all of this!</div>
  • I agree.  I had two themes in mind as well, and I am just going to include subtle pieces of them as well.  Places to include the theme:

    -cake topper
-bridal party entrance into the reception hall
    -escort cards
    -cufflinks and bouquet charm

Also I was thinking if you use the colors red and white, you match both Twins stuff and Disney stuff.

That is kinda over the top...<div>Is it a very informal reception?  Like, jeans and BBQ informal?  Because if it's not I really think you're setting yourself up to be a story people tell in the family for years to come... and not in a good way.</div>
  • I agree with pps-- I would be really careful with the theming, especially since too much baseball and disney can verge on carnival-like if overdone. I would look at it as incorporating little bits of your personality vs total all-out theme. Garter, groom's cake, colors, first dance song, table numbers, etc are all good places to add a touch of it without it going too overboard.

Also, ditto pp's question about the TC Bear at the reception-- is it going to be really informal, or is a costumed mascot coming into a fancy ballroom?
