FIRST FITTING TONIGHT! CHECK!

Well, I FINALLY found a seamstress unlike the bad one on Monday! My Mom and I went tonight with both our dresses..Now I bought a 'knock off' dress I guess they are called from Widedress.com and paid about 130 for it..it is beautiful and I love it! I've lost about 25 pounds so it needs some taking in but in lacing up the back, she found I had like 11 loops down one side and 12 on the other..she said i should contact the company but anyways..I need 6 inches cut off the bottom, a loop for the corset back added and a bustle and ribbing for the bodice, she said it would fit totally different once the ribbing was put in..she is charging $125 for all of that which is shocking when I think about posts I have read where they charge 400!

Now for Moms dress, she is my MOH and her and my BM are wearing the same dress, lavender strapless and it comes with a wrap..Well my Mom is large and she had been saying the whole time how self conscious she was gonna be in a strapless dress with her big arms..I don't care..but anyway, she put on her dress and it only needs hemmed a bit, she was telling the seamstress how self conscious she is of her fat pudges on the top front of her arm and the lady draped the wrap around and had it just so and Mom loved it! She said she could put  invisible snaps on each side it to where it would drape over her problem area and stay in place so I think she is gonna do that..we both still have to get our strapless bras this weekend and she is letting us go back with them next week but at least we have made progress!  :)  30 DAYS!

Re: FIRST FITTING TONIGHT! CHECK!

  • Congrats! I went in today for I guess my final fitting! I just had a bustle added other then that everything was perfect! I tried it on and walked around and practiced sitting!  So it only cost $23.00! Congrats on your deal you got also!
  • You both are some lucky girls!
Even though I have lost 10 pounds, I still had to originally  buy a larger dress because I somehow have a very large ribcage and the dresses wouldn't zip. My dress needed to be taken in ALL over, (straps, both sides, hips, hem 2 layer bustle (satinand lace), bra cups sewn in,  fabric covered buttons added.
My alterations were $380 (over half the cost of my dress). I'm just happy I started mine in June because I went to pick it up last week and some alterations weren't even started. Grrrr.  I'm happy with my David's bridal dress purchase.... but starting to regret my David's Bridal alterations. 29 days to go!
