Workout Accountability : Friday

TGIF!!!

Finally through week one of p90x!  Last night's workout went well, and took a good hour.  Today is either rest or stretch day - thank goodness!  My body is tired and a little sore, but I'm ready to ramp up again tomorrow for week two.  I think tomorrow is arms, shoulders and abs-but I need to double check, and Sunday is plyo (blech.)

Any fun plans for the weekend?

The weather here is gorgeous, so I can't wait to get to the farmer's market and play outside.  I'm also hoping to do some cooking and some sitting on my butt.  We're celebrating my brother's birthday on Saturday, which will be fun, but I need to watch my dessert intake.

Have a great Friday!

Re: Workout Accountability : Friday

  • I did some pilates this morning, and I'm hoping there is no lightning tonight so I can get a mile in at the pool.

As for this weekend tomorrow I have a run with team in training in the morning. I'm hoping to finally get my bike on the trainer too, and I'm taking my daughter to her swim class.

Sunday we're going to the virginia renn fest in kilts!

  • I was able to run a little bit last night.  The stomach is still preventing me from doing much so I haven't been posting much on here because I get so frustrated.  Some days I can run for 4 days straight, other times only once a week.  The good news is I have an appointment with a specialist today so hopefully this will all get figured out and I can get back to training!
  • Good morning & happy friday!

I was tired yesterday but still managed to get a walk in at work on the wooded trails behind the building and then after work I made myself go to the gym and got 15 minutes on the stairmaster and 30 minutes on the elliptical. I skipped weights altogether because I was just too tired and hungry, but I'm happy I made myself get a good cardio workout in.

Tonight will probably be a light cardio night. I'd love to go on another walk at work but it's raining and poopy weather out right now.

Since Friday is my weigh in day I'm happy to report down 1.4lbs this week!! Only 23 to go till my goal!

Started C25K last night and it went well. Hoping to stick to the progam and finally be able to run.

Trying to keep on top of my eating and drinking. I have cut out all wine during the week and this has helped a lot. However, tonight i'm going out to one of our local beach towns so i'm sure I will have a few drinks.

    Happy Friday!!!!
  • Worked out for 40 minutes yesterday on the elliptical, then did weights and abs. Then I had a double header softball game, so got some good sprints in. This morning I did 30 min on the bike and focused more on abs and weights. It is going to pour this weekend, so I will be doing a lot of DIY things for the wedding and will sneak in a workout here and there at the gym  :)

  • Morning all!

Last night I did a body pump class, so glad I have a gym buddy, I really didnt want to go-like really really didnt want to go, but she pushed me to step it up and come.

Glad I did go!  (as always) today my legs are super sore from all the weighted lunges but today I am taking a rest day-will be back at the gym saturday morning.

one thing I noticed that maybe someone here would have suggestions for: when I do the weighted squats, my right knee always kind of pops, it doesnt hurt but I notice it happening everytime i do it with weights, I dont want to injure myself and have to take time off. Anyone have any suggestions as to why its happening and what I need to do to correct it?
Im thinking its due to underdeveloped muscles but I dont really know how to strengthen the muscles in my knees. Or Im totally wrong, I really dont know what it could be.

    Happy weekend everyone!

  • Hi everyone.  I'm a little bummed today.  Scale showed a 1.6 lb gain this morning (I weigh myself once a week on Fridays)....this past week I certainly didn't work quite as hard as I have been, but I still maintained an overall calorie deficit, so I don't know what's wrong.  I know it's just one weigh in, and I did drink last night and maybe I'm holding onto some water weight or something, but it really was discouraging.  It's one thing to gain because of overeating and under exercising, but when I'm working hard all week, it's SO frustrating.  Really wanted to get down to 149 before my e-pics 6/28, but not sure I'll be able to do it at this rate.  Ugh!

Took a good walk at lunch yesterday, then did another short walk with FI in the evening.   Going to a bachelorette party allll weekend, so really need to watch it w/ the food, the drinks, and minimal exercise.   I am proud of myself for realizing that I need try and stay on track this weekend even though it's a "special occasion."  In the past I definitely would have just totally fallen off and let myself cheat all weekend because it was something out of the ordinary.

    Have a nice weekend, everyone!
  • Hi everyone :)

Today is a happy day! Weighed in and I am 3 pounds lighter than last week, yeeee-haw!

Last night FMIL and I ran 4.28km (slowly) but that burned about 300 calories, so it was good. Time goes by SO much faster when you have another person with you.

Today there won't be any exercise, but I'm hoping to keep on track with my eating which should be a challenge that I'm up for. We're off to our beach house about 3 and a half hours away for the weekend, and I tend to eat a LOT when I'm in the car. I get car sick super easily, so by constantly nibbling I tend to not get sick.. over the years that turned into like 3 bags of beef jerky, gummie bears, 3 bottles of coke.. etc. every trip! While you're just sitting! So that habit is changing. I'm going to bring some fresh veggies & fruits so that when I want to snack, it's low cal but also filling! Wish me luck this weekend folks!

  • I feel like I am slacking with my posting this week.  But, I'm not slacking with my workouts so that is a good thing.

Yesterday I lifted back, did 45 minutes of intervals on the elliptical, and then at lunchtime took a pilates class.

This morning we lifted biceps & hit spin class.

My goal for the weekend is to workout both days, as well as not eat too much yummy food/beer at the graduation party I'm going to tomorrow.

    Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

I have weeks like this and it really gets me down. However, I have done some reading up on it and it's the norm, esp in women because of our cycles. Don't get down just keep up the good work and you may be super surprised next week.
  • Katred - I know that when I drink (which for me only happens about once every four months) I hold onto water. Last time I drank I gained a pound, and then it disappeared a couple days later. I wouldn't worry too much :) Just drink that water all day long today!

Happy thoughts & positive vibes your way! :)

  • Last night was a rough night.   We had a tasting for pastries for the BBQ we are hosting the day after the wedding.   Friend of a friend brought over 4 different flavors of cupcakes, and 5 different cookies for us to try.   They were all delicious.  I did manage to control myself and only took a sliver of every cupcake and a bite of every cookie and then handed it over to FI try/finish.   It took a great deal of will power but I was happy I didn't over-indulge.

This weekend is going to be full of having to show willpower.  Tonight FI and I are going out for our anniversary to dinner, this weekend his family is in town visiting.  I did bike to work today so that is a 600 calorie burn.  Will have to make sure I work out tomorrow too.

  • How funny Dawn last night we had our 4 year anniversary.

    Sarah- That is awesome!

I am only down .5 lbs this week. But I am also under the final 10 lbs I have left to loose. I wanted to get to 145 like I used to be, but I have more muscle. I am not sure really. I am pretty happy with how I look now. I am just going to keep up with the healthy eating and toning :D

I have an hour of personal training for my upper body today, eek. Last week I did an hour of legs and could not walk for 4 days.... I'm a little nervous.

  • Happy Friday, I got out early today!

I ended up taking a rest day yesterday since I wasn't feeling well.  I needed it.  I'm going for a run later today, probably 3-4 miles. Today is the first day this week my legs haven't been sore. Those Nike workouts killed them.

I'm going out to dinner tonight so I'm trying to eat super healthy today and for the rest of the weekend. Not sure what I'll be doing exercise wise, I need to find a way to lift now that I no longer have a gym.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

As someone below said our cycles will cause weight gain. So will gaining muscle. So, if you are doing everything right then there is nothing to worry about.

  • So, I have been regularly working out since last October. I am determined to take this as a lifestyle change that will last rather than just losing weight. So, I actually I only need to lose 10lbs by August 2013.

What I need to change up is eating smaller portions and adding in weights. I do cardio and stretching 5x/week and this is now fairly consistent. So, time to figure how I will fit it into the schedule. Kind of crazy with wedding planning, studying for board exams, and working full-time. It will happen though...

  • Got my workout on at the pool again today - 1.25 miles on a balmy afternoon.  Nothing beats an outdoor pool workout - gotta love SD for that year round pleasure. :)  The Celtics are playing again tonight so the game is dvr'ed and we're ordering pizza.  I'm going to make a nice big salad and make every effort to limit my pizza intake!  Wish me luck!
