GETTING IN SHAPE...Meh!

I've always been thin, but before I met my match I had a rockin' body. Well, I got comfy...Found more fun in watching a movie or walking the dog...rather than going to the gym. Well, starting Monday I am RE-dedicating myself to tightening up! I want to look good in Hawaii for my new hubby. I've got 134 days left before the big day. (Not to mention I tried on my dress and that mutha was a little tight in the tummy)

Suggestions?

I'm thinking p90x or group fitness classes at the Rec Center.

Who's with me? Anyone? Anyone?

I have 3 days left to decide!

    Congrats on wanting to get back in shape. My only suggestion would be to check out the getting in shape board. They will definitely help you and help keep you on track.

    I'm in the same boat.. Always been in shape but started getting a little comfortable.
    I'm still over a year away from my Miami, beach wedding but I want to start now.. I don't know where in VA you're located (I'm in Northern VA) but I found this on weddingwire and was thinking of joining...www. raysthefitness. com... It's a bridal bootcamp, first session FREE

    I think I'm going to go for p90x. 133 days left - 90 days of workout= Rockin body for wedding and honeymoon!

    I too tried on my dress. It zipped..but there would be no breathing or movement in that thing! LOL.

    YES Dreama LOL I thought...My goodness there is no WAY I'm eating with this thing on!

    Soooo I started p90x last night. It's a great workout. Last night was Arms/Chest/Back. It was full of push ups and pull ups...But instead of pull ups, you can use an exercise band and put in on a door or something with height...which I did.
    But me being me...
    I got the band really tight so that I could have some resistance for a better "pull up". Ned is using his pull up bar in the sam doorway, so we are facing each other.
    So I get the band as tight as I could and pull. It SNAPS off the door, smacks me in the face, I fall backward onto the floor, my glasses fly across the room and I'm left with a damn welt the size of Texas on my forehead.
    I dusted myself off and finished DAY 1, though.

    Woot! Onto day 2!

    Oh no!

    I've been trying to talk myself into jogging. Me being the total non-athletic, never played a sport, always dreaded running the mile in High School am trying to talk myself into JOGGING. lol. Though I know I have to make changes! It's hard to get encouraged with the weather we are having. Who wants to get out and run in 90+ degree weather?!

    I've been exercising religiously, but I hate it.  So my problem is that the wedding is still 9 months away, and the thought of keeping up with the gym and eating healthy for that long makes me sad, hahaha.  But I'm too afraid of my dress not fitting to do anything else!

    Getting in shape here too!!  I work out all the time at the gym, and dropped some weight/toned up recently by starting to run (ok some might call it a jog ;).  I've done a few races in the area and plan on doing a half marathon in March.  I've always had trouble keeping my weight down (I've never been a "thin" girl).  I'm getting married in September 2011 so I have some time but I need to drastically change what I'm doing to really make an impact!

    mkarns~ I'm in Va Beach too!  I have been a One Life Fitness member since last summer and love it.  Their classes are great!

    Oh everyone LOVES One Life Fitness! That's great! I haven't been but I only hear good things (especially about their personal trainers).  I have a membership to the Bayside Rec Center (it was cheapcheapcheap) but it's hard for me to stay motivated. You guys sound like you're doing a rockin job whipping yourselves into shape. Marathons? Woot!

    Becca I'm sure your dress will fit! Just make wise decisions, but dont go overboard with the healthy crap- It's overrated!

    I'm on day 4 of p90x and I am INCREDIBLY sore. My leg muscles dont even feel like theyre attached...They're just kind of jiggling around. LOL

    And if you guys like Yoga...My friend Tracy hold Yoga on the Beach (Chicks Beach) classes Friday Mornings at 7 and 9 and she's just started a Saturday class. It's $8 per class. I'm gonna see if I can get off work eary tomorrow to go.

    I'm actually getting really excited about the idea of having a sweet bod!
