Help With Under-eye Circles!

When I went to get my make-up trial, I felt as though my eyes were immediately drawn to the dark circles underneath my eyes, which is so not ideal for a bride!  How do I get rid of these?  They are there all the time, regardless of how much sleep I get (I do typically make it a priority to get 7-8 hours/night).  I use moisturizers, etc., and they are not super puffy - just dark, regardless of the concealor I use.  How do I fix it?!  :)  Thank you!

Re: Help With Under-eye Circles!

  • I have the same problem :( I've been told by a dermatolagist that eye creams with Vitamin K help. I tried it and it didn't work for me, but maybe you will have better luck. At this point I'll try anything. I look exhausted all the time!
  • Try starting with concealer, then putting on your foundation.  Set it, and brighten your eyes with YSL's Touche Eclat.  I discovered this on my quest to find the perfect wedding makeup, and will never be without it again!
  • My MUA covered mine fine.  If you are using a professional, they should be able to do it.
  • Sadly, undereye circles are genetic. I'm one of those people who has them all the time. When I worked at a spa they always told us that Vitamin C serum can help tone them down. You can get a cream with Vitamin C (sometimes listed as Asorbic Acid). Or, if you're more thrifty, you can take vitamin C gel caps, break them in you palm, pat your finger tip into the liquid and then slowly pat it on your under eye circles. The patting is an important part as it helps improve bloodflow to the area. Vitamin C is great if you have any hyperpigmentation as well.

How much of a difference did you notice when doing this? Worth it?

I found some for about 5 dollars, so take that into account. After about two weeks I did notice that they began to lighten up. They're light enough that I can pretty easily cover then with foundation now. It was worth it for me.
  • use a retinol eye cream/gel!!!

retinol helps to lighten the skin, which will help to lighten the dark circles! the only product that has really worked for mine is Mary Kay's Targeted-Action Eye Revitilizer (i know...who knew?!). it's a roller-ball gell that you roll under your eyes. it has a retinol as well as vitamin c in it that really helps to get rid of those circles!

and yes vitamin c will help too! take a vitamin c supplement and maybe use a vitamin c cleanser (murad makes one). your whole face will look as bright as your eyes! :)
