AI resorts in Jamacia

Hey ladies, I'm pretty sure FI and I decided on Jamacia for our HM next May! We are just having such a hard time narrowing down the best AI resorts. Looking to keep the resort costs around $3-3,500. Any reviews you can give will help! Thanks!

We LOVE Jamaica. We've stayed at 3 Sandals there- Royal Plantation, Whitehouse, and Grande Riviera. We got the most "bang for our buck" at Grande Riviera, which was almost my favorite between Whitehouse and Grande Riviera. It is a huge resort with different vibes at each beach area/pool area- but doesn't feel packed at all.
Royal Plantation is really small and intimate, probably one of our most favorite resorts but it is more pricey.
We've also stayed at Secrets in other islands and have looked at the Secrets in Jamaica. The only reason we went to Whitehouse over the Secrets there was because it was so new.
We have a really great travel agent that has always helped us find the right resort for our budget and what we were looking for. If you are interested in her info, PM me. We've had a lot of success with her!

The only AI I stayed at in Jamaica was Sandals Negril. It was nice, but probably not necessarily worth the money. I think you could probably get something cheaper.

I have heard great things about the Couples and Secrets resorts from friends who have stayed at them. H and I decided on the Iberostar Grand for our anniversary trip in November based on reviews on tripadvisor and a great deal through Costco.

Our friends stayed at the Iberostar Grand back in April for a long weekend and can't stop raving about it. (They use our same TA-- and she recommended it to them since it was so close to the airport and they were only going for 4 nights.) They had stayed at Sandals Emerald Bay for their honeymoon and liked the Iberostar better. Hope you have the same experience!

I've stayed at Couples Tower Isle and Couples Sans Souci. the more popular Couples Resorts on here are Swept Away and Negril, which happen to be a little more expensive than Tower Isle or Negril. Each Couples Resort is very different, so definitely look over their website and contact a travel agent that specializes in the brand (there is a link to find an agent on their website.)

The Secrets Wild Orchid or Secrets St. James would be nice options, otherwise Couples Negril (7 Mile Beach). A travel agent might have other ideas in Negril too. I have heard that Sandals are way overrated, etc. I'm sure you can find something more intimate.

Hi! I don't post on many more boards other than my month board, but I was just looking around and saw this.

H and I went to Couples Tower Isle for 4 nights in November. It was around $1500(w/o flight) for the 4 nights maybe. Our travel agent told us Couples is pretty similar to Sandals, but is cheaper. We really loved it. They have great restaurants and bars and offer great activities. I'm not sure about the other Couples resorts, but I would think they are very much on par with this one. Tower Isle was a big place for celebs in the 40s and 50s. They updated it pretty recently, but kept the retro feel to it.

I agree with what Jells said. They are all different, so just check out the website and see what each has to offer. If you have a travel agent nearby, you might want to talk with them too.

We just booked our honeymoon at Sunset at the Palms in Negril - they have "treehouse" type lodging and it is all inclusive!

Couples Swept Away (Negril) looked beautiful when we walked past it. We stayed at Sunset at the Palms and it was wonderful. http://www.sunsetatthepalms.com/

There is also a really high-end AI on the cliffs in Negril called The Caves. It looks amazing!
