Yay Me!

Just wanted to take a second and celebrate two great events: I found my dress and we just got our engagement photos back from our photographer!! I'm so excited I've been bouncing around the house all day! This wedding just got a lot more "real" for me!

Okay, that's all. I just really needed a "yay me" moment! LOL

    Your dress is GORGEOUS! And all the engagement pics are great. I love them all! Good luck picking the ones for your STDs! I will say that I LOVE the one in front of the Tigers sign! We have a picture of us in our Red Wings jerseys on our STDs. :)

    @meg: Ah! FI wanted to take one in front of the Spirit of Detroit because we were there during the playoffs and it had it's Red Wings jersey on... but we lost to the Sharks the night before and it was a touchy subject for him. He's very dedicated to the Wings. We did Comerica Park instead and had a lot of fun. The whole shoot was downtown, which was great since we live out of state now and miss it! The one with the reflection was the window of the Fox haha

    I didn't know you were a fellow Detroiter! It's so cool that you noticed that little detail! :)

    Beautiful dress!!! Good for you for remembering to sit down in it!! I didn't do that in my first dress and then when I did I was like "OMG!!! I can't sit down!!!" Really it's gorgeous!!

    I would use the first or the third pic for STD's... Just my opinion!

    @Sami: Haha that's what I was thinking! I love them all, thanks for the opinion - it's so difficult to choose! And yeah I was so scared I would sit down and it would poof up over my face. There's a whole lot of dress there!

    I mean when I sat down in my first dress my boobs were at my chin.. If I looked down, I might have suffocated. lol..

     <div>I'm actually born and raised in California but my FI is from Detroit and moved to California when he was 15. He got me HOOKED on Detroit sports! My mother also grew up in Indiana, but spent a lot of time in Detroit so she's always been a HUGE Tigers fan. So, I'm not "technically" a Detroiter, but thanks to my FI & mom I love the Red Wings and Tigers. :) Haha.</div>

    Georgeous dress, and adorable pics!  I agree that the first and third are my favorite.  The one in front of the Tigers sign is really cute too, but my personally wouldn't want a pic of my butt on everyone's STDs!

    Um, as a hockey fan, boo Red WIngs. Though, at the moment, I should probably shut the heck up, as my team is down three games to one. I am glad we beat Detroit though. So glad! ;)

    But, your pics are great! I'm with Beach, people are going to hang your save the dates on their fridge, so booty pics are not what I would choose! I like the third from the top, but there isn't a ton of negative space for wording. I'd go with either 6 or 7.

    Yea Jess!! Congrats on finding your dream dress dress. You look stunning in it! What a way to start a Monday! Thanks for sharing your pics. I like E-pic # 2,4,7 for a STD pic beause of the room you have for the message and dates. They all good great!

    I don't know if we can be friends. No, I did not jump on the Red Wings Band Wagon. I jumped on the "I adore my older brother bandwagon and he loves the Red Wings" when I was in like 1st grade and he was in 4th.so really neither of us joined a bandwagon because that was in like 1988. They are my team besides the Sabres of course.

    Also, gorgeous dress and gorgeous pics!!

    No one roots for the Sharks?! Or the Hurricanes?!

    H used to play hockey and thus religiously follows all things Hockey. I only follow the Sharks because H does (I'm a football girl myself), but I also root for the Hurricanes, because I sang the national anthem for them a few times in my younger days...

    Haha thanks everyone for the advice!

    @Meg: You're close enough of a Detroiter for my tastes :) Tigers and Red Wings pretty much gets you in the club lol

    @Green: Thank you for the compliments! FI was so worried about the pics. He's not always the most photogenic (probably because he always makes the most grotesque faces...) but it was cute to see him stressing. Now he's doomed though because I have proof he can take a nice photo :)

    @firsttimersluck: Thank you for the kind words and thank you for letting me share this special moment with you lovely ladies! FI is wedding-ed out already so the excitement is lost on him right now haha

    @Beach: Holy crap I didn't even think about my butt hanging out on everyone's fridges! Thanks soooo much for pointing that out! On a side note, though, my sister keeps telling FI and our friends that my butt looks AMAZING in that one lol That should have triggered the thought that perhaps this isn't the right pic for our STDs...

    @Stan: LOL gloat all you want, we'll be back next year! In the last 25 years the Wings have been in the playoffs 20 times. Not a bad record! I hope the Sharks keep going because it will make you happy (and I don't have any team to root for anymore), but I wouldn't be devastated if the Canucks beat the crap out of them either ;) Thanks for the advice on the pics, I was actually considering #7 the more I thought about it, but it's great to have someone suggest it before I said anything.

    @Mob: Thank you so much for the compliments! I'm so excited for this freaking dress it's obnoxious. And thanks for reminding me that there should really be space for some kind of wording on the STDs LOL Thank you for letting me share my excitement with you!

    @Sami: I am a football girl at heart as well :) College football more than pro, but football all the same. FI is the hockey/baseball fan. We have a little tiny christmas tree that we keep up all year long. One third is decorated with Red Wings ornaments, the other with Tigers ornaments, and the last third with UofM ornaments. We just turn it based on whatever season it is lol

    I Love College Football more than Pro toooo!!!!! Crimson Tide has my heart even though they sucked big time last season. I grew up practically across the street from the stadium. I have at least 25 different hats and a million tshirts. the vanity plate on my car says "Bama Girl", H keeps trying to get me to change it for a USMC Wife plate, but I'm like "Maybe after this football season.. or after next..."

    I hate the Red Wings and all (friendly hate in this thread), but that's not why I'm a Sharks fan! I've liked them since they were at the Cow Palace. I grew up in Southern Cal and Marin (Bay Area). I was going to marry Patty Marleau when he was drafted, and then I heard him talk (and saw him fight...).

    Oh Sami you how could you? I feel like I am in my first trimester of pregnancy once again and want to puke!
    LSU baby, LSU! Sealed lol (just bantering)

     I have the grandbabies cheering for them every season too!

    The second to last one, Oh man I found a razor back onsie amongst her clothes and realized her mother and I  never had "that talk" so now she is LSU for college and Packers for pro. I am not into pro so it didn't matter to me who it was but it did matter on college.

    @Mob: You sound exactly like my uncle. He gets to all the little ones in the family super early and raises them up "right" (as he says) in maize and blue and has them saying "go blue" before momma or dada or anything else.
