August 2012 Weddings

Ordering Invitations=high blood pressure

Oh my gosh I just ordered all my invitations, RSVPs, and enclosures PLUS my rehearsal dinner invites and clicking 'order' each time was the most stressful thing i've ever done.  I keep rereading my invite to make sure I didn't screw anything up!  Gah...did anyone else go through this, or am I just a nut? :)  Happy planning all.

  • Designing ours was HBP for sure!!  My Mom and I worked on them, and by the end we both were drinking and FI had to come approve everything before I clicked order lol!  I thought the whole experience was a stressful thing, so I hear you!  You aren't a nut lol :)

  • I probably read over the invites 20 times before ordering them to make sure there were no errors. I also panicked when I received them as I was still worried that there was a typo I didn't catch.

  • I have a friend who is screenprinting mine (artsy fartsy), and when she sent me the 'proof' I about had a heart attack- we had left the time off and hadn't noticed it, even though I read through it 9 or 10 times. I'm just glad we caught it when we did.
  • I read through our invitation dozens of times before printing it.  I was so worried there would be a typo or something against etiquette, and I'm an English teacher, so I edit things all the time.  I even brought it in to work to have one of my colleagues proofread for me.  I also had a minor meltdown over whether the address of our venue should be "road" or "drive" (Yahoo, Google, etc. had it different than our venue's website), and I am generally a very laid-back person.  Hitting that submit button just made everything feel so real!
  • I have nightmares about my invitations being incorrect. That is the task I get to tackle this week....

Oh I understand completely I am a teacher too, so using hyphens and commas I was looking through my grammar book to make sure I was doing things correctly lol!  I'm high strung anyways so this made it 10 times worse.  Yeah, I did these with the MOG and she thought I was ridiculous because I kept rechecking everything.  When I hit submit, she said "well he definitely can't back out now" lol

My blood pressure skyrocketed when it came time to click submit to order the invitations!! I almost couldn't do it. Last week I ordered my photobook guest book and again, hitting submit was sooo hard! It's exciting though :)

  • Ordering the invites has been the most stressful event to this point!  I don't know how many proofs I asked for!  Pick them up on Friday and almost want to just drop them in the mail before looking at and rethinking them again!
  • My dear Mom, bless her heart! She found Davids Bridal website and sent me a link on FB, I found the ones I wanted and she offered to go ahead and do the ordering online...It took her a week I think LOL...She was questioning everything..My fiance's middle name is Allan and she IM'd me asking how to spell it..well, I told her the wrong spelling in which case we didn't find out until they had been delivered!  :(  That was totally my fault but she ordered 25 xtra invites (Davids Bridal even took off 40% and added free shipping) so it was another 40 bucks for 25 correct invites that will be sent to his friends and family...She said it was so hard and even chatted with the rep on the fonts and colors..I am so thankful she did this for me!
