I'm starting to look into getting our marriage license, and none of the websites I've looked at are entirely clear about non-residents. My FI lives in MI, but I recently moved to Massachusetts and am still technically an Illinois resident. I'm not sure if we both need to apply in-person for the marriage lisence or if he can do without me and just bring copies of my identification. According to all the sites I've checked, the lisence is good for 30 days after being issue, so I would need to come to MI sometime in July to apply. I was planning on staying in Massachusetts for most of the summer, so I'm just trying to plan our when I need to make trips to the Midwest.
