we chose a Maui wedding

My FI and I decided our wedding date would be March 13, 2013. We decided Maui would be a great place for a beach wedding but unsure which beach is the best in march? any suggestions on beaches or coordinators?? I've looked at some of the websites for coordinators and photographers they have a lot of good ones its hard to choose. would appreciate any advice or tips for planning

So nice to know that there is someone searching for the same things that we are.....we are planning our beach wedding for June 2013. I have spent HOURS searching the internet looking for the best coordinator and beach! I am a little nervous about it since I cant meet anyone face to face or acutually see the beach (other than a picture) but I guess that is part of what makes it exciting. Maui Me Weddings gives a lot of detail on their site which I really like, however while I was reading it I noticed that she talks down about previous clients and vendors. I didn't think that was right. We have decided that we are getting married in South Maui as there is less rain and wind (so I have read) the West Maui. I have also read that the South Maui beaches may be less crowded. We have also choosen a sunset wedding. I wish you the best of luck!!!

Breaness was married at Paipu Beach in Makena. Check out her wedding bio for photos & details, but it was a beautiful wedding and a relatively private location.

Planners that are often recommended/used on this board:

- Deanne, Precious Maui Weddings
- Lori Lawrence, Tropical Maui Weddings
- Belle Destination Events

That's what I remember off the top of my head. Be sure to find one you connect well with (you can easily determine this based on a few phone calls), as well as who has some good ideas for backup plans (eg, in case of weather) and have a pricing structure you can live with. Some charge a flat rate, others charge a percentage of everything they book for you, and yet others have package options.

Check out Cherise with Perfect Wedding Maui too - she has a Facebook page where you can see pictures of her weddings (mine is on there!). She has a low flat rate and does not have any hidden charges. She was wonderful and I wouldn't use anyone else!!

We had a beach wedding in south Maui on a relatively tight budget, and were super happy with how everything turned out. There's info and reviews of the vendors we selected in my bio. Definitely read as many bios as you can find - they were a fantastic resource to me when I was planning.
