Geri Nelson Photog

Hi all,

I am considering hiring Geri Nelsn:  http://www.geraldinenelson.com/

I Really enjoy her photographs and she is very responsive and sweet.

Anyone have experience with her?  I saw one bride recently recommended her in a post from today or yesterday.

I think the most important thing to me is energy/creativity.  Don't want boring/psoed pictures.  Want mostly journalistic style photographt with edgy/fun portraits.

I think Geri would be good.  Thoughts?

Thx, as always.

I am probably the person you referred to in your post.  If you'd like, I can PM you my proofing gallery so you can see a full wedding's worth of shots.  My experience with Geri was that she was very quick about the portrait part of the day (all my BMs said that they thought formals went really fast), and I liked that she shot everything else without asking me to pose at all.  She got a lot of great shots without being obtrusive, and her personality was awesome.  I felt very comfortable around her day-of, and that was key to getting good shots, IMO.  As far as "edgy" goes, we didn't have any particularly edgy poses, but I think from her gallery she definitely does that.  Hope that helps!

Excellent!  So relieved to hear it.

Would you mind pm'ing your link to me?  I would be so greatful.

And OMG -- I should proofread my posts.  Ha!  Sorry about all the typos, people :)

What are her prices like? Her photos on her blog are amazing!

Reasonable, I think.  From 2900+ for one day  (8 hours) of coverage by one photog.  Adittional hours/albums/guestbook/photog are all add-ons.

sorry a little late on this...I hired Geri for my August 2011 wedding. She is really sweet and pretty quick on responding to emails. We took our engagement shoots in late November, but due to everything under the sun(I have the worst work schedule, snow & family matters) we are still waiting to see them but fingers crossed this week.
Like you I enjoyed her pictures, there is a romantic feel about them that I really liked and you can tell after meeting her she is really into her art. She was rolling around in mud for our engagement shoot...in November :-)
Her packages vary and she is willing to swap like priced things from the ala carte into a package that you may not want and for us we kind of put a package together and she agreed to it.
I will say we did pay more then I thought we would but after meeting with a couple photographers, the style we wanted and what we wanted package wise, Geri won the photographer battle. Hope this helps Laughing
