My Fiance Has Lost His Mind...

Okay, Andy is crazy, and that is why I love him, however...

We went to the bridal show at Currents tonight, and he starts throwing random ideas at me.  He thinks he should be able to have his own entrance into the ceremony (which I agreed to), but he'd like to have the Hulk Hogan theme music play, "I Am A Real American," and wear a flag draped over his tux.

He also said he wanted Carlo from the show The Cake Boss to make the wedding cake.  When I told him Carlo is in Hoboken, 2 hours from the venue, he said he would go and pick up the cake himself the morning of the wedding.  LoL!  After that he went as far as to say that he'd be perfectly capable taking the train to Hoboken, NJ, putting the cake ON the train, and riding back with it.  He says it would be like Snakes on a Plane, but this time, Cakes on a Train.  I'm not kidding.

The crowning glory - today he asked if the bridal party could enter the reception site carrying lightsabers.  Like full-on, Star Wars lightsabers.

Welcome to our circus, I mean, wedding.  Andy is ridiculously silly and over-the-top, but did any of your guys have some crazy ideas that made you say, "WHAAAT?"

i think my fiance would be totally on board with the light saber thing...i don't think i'll mention the idea to him :P
so far his only request it to wear his converse sneakers, i told him that he must have shiny black shoes for the ceremony and formal pics, but can change later...
i've also told him that so many others have done that that it isn't original anymore, then showed him someone who did it on a tv show, so who knows what footwear he will be wearing, although i'm thinking of surprising him with special wedding converse shoes b/c i'm just cool lile that  :)

Mine hasn't come up with anything too outlandish, and usually his goofy ideas are a result of one too many shots of whiskey.

    I dig the light sabers.

And the hulk entrance would totally be original. For serious. :)

"cakes on a train" made me giggle.  Btw, the guy from Cake Boss is named Buddy, and the name of his shop is Carlos's Bake Shop.

Wow. Those are some...IDEAS.  hahaha.  FI and I joked about getting a Duff cake from Charm City Cakes (the Ace of Cakes guy) but it's just not even remotely plausible.

We have the wedding which we call "The Dream" which isn't going to ever happen.  "The Dream" takes place at Citizens Bank Park... we'd get married on home plate and then have the reception in the Diamond Club behind home plate.  We'd have the Phanatic there.  Duff would make our awesome Phillies wedding cake... and my bridesmaids would wear powder blue dresses with a maroon sash.  The boys would wear navy blue suits with powder blue ties that had the maroon "fat" P on them.   Unfortunately, none of these things are happening... because I don't have $80K at my disposal...LOL!
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

Carlo's Bake Shop (owned by Buddy) is VERY expensive.  They charge over $8 pp for a wedding cake.  To put that in perspective, I got my cake for free, but they charge the venue $3.25 pp.

Check out Cakes by Kim, Sweets to you by Ginger for comparable cakes to Carlo's.  My cakes (we had a grooms cake) were FANTASTIC on Saturday.

My MOH and Best Maid entered wearing 90s style sunglasses.  It was hilarious, and everyone loved it (I can't wait to see my video).

You have to always keep in mind- doing something crazy is what becomes memorable.  For example, I spent $500 on a dress that has a colored train- and everyone will remember it.  Other girls spend $8000 on a dress that not many people will remember because it's another white dress.  Anything that seems crazy, people will remember.

a girl I went to school with is doing almost all of this, RA. Just shy of the cake, phanatic, and clothing. She's getting married on home plate at CBP, and reception afterwards in the diamond club. I'm pretty jealous. I can't even find somewhere to hold our ceremony.

I told my fiance about those ideas thinking he would laugh. The joke is on me.  He is diggin' the lightsabers and told me he has been looking up crazy wedding videos.

haha. I'm a little late responding to this post but it is hilarious! Thankfully, my FI hasn't mentioned anything like that.. although now i'm not sure what's gonna happen with out wedding due to baby... I think the entrance idea is a good compromise and I think the light saber idea is so funny!!! People would never forget it that's for sure!! I say go for it.
