  I got the OPI axium nails done about three months ago.  It was awesome.  They have 15+ colors to choose and they manicurist applies the gel, put it under a uv light and they're dry.  They last about three weeks (and look perfect the entire time).  You can get them take off or new ones put on (my place charges 5 dollars, I think to take them off).  I'm going to do it again at my wedding.  It's supposed to be a lot healtier for your nails than acrylics or gels and when mine were removed, my nails still looked great.
  
  I got mine done at Vanity Lab in Westlake.  I think they were 40 dollars.  If you're interested in trying it, PM me and I can give you a referral card that I have from my stylist.  It's for 20 dollars off any serivce.  The salon is a nicer highend salon, so you can feel more comfortable doing it here rathen than a mall nail shop or something.

  Sorry...I should have checked back here.  No....they don't do anything to the nail at all.  It's applied just like you're getting a regular manicure, you sit with it under the UV light, they do another layer, you put your hands under the light, they do a clear coat and you're done!  You can touch your nails immediatly and there's no risk of runing them.
  
  I've never had fake nails and the thought of destroying them or having them filed or weaken was enough to scare me away.

  I just wrote you back.  I have a bunch of coupons.  They're referral cards from my stylist, so I have a bunch to hand out!  You can't beat 20 dollars off a salon service!

  There's a place in Olmsted Falls called Exquisite Nails on Columbia Rd., across from the little Grand Junction area.  My mom has been going there for at least 5 years. She usually gets the acrylic nails 'cause her nails are super weak anyway, but they offer gel nail services, too.  They're all really super nice - my mom's favorite color is a deep purple (the same as her '66 Mustang) and they keep a bottle of it tucked away just for her! lol
