cost of flowers

Can anyone give me a breakdown of the cost of their flowers, per bouquet, etc? I have a quote and I am trying to see if it's in the right ballpark. It seemed reasonable to me since we are doing our own centerpieces, but wanted to have something to compare it to. Thanks.

Re: cost of flowers

  • To add to this-did anyone go through a florist for your centerpieces?  We're going to either have to go to a florist or do our own since we don't care for the venue's centerpieces.  I imagine it's going to get expensive and I'm curious for a ballpark figure for anyone who has done this.
  • It's going to totally depend on the type of flowers you use, the size of the centerpiece, the time of year, etc. For reference, our "high" centerpieces are $175 each and our "low" centerpieces are $125 each. They could easily be half that if you went with different flowers/heights/containers/vases.

When I emailed the florist I met with last week the following pictures she quoted me $160 per centerpiece...but I have no clue as to whether that is expensive or a good deal because I haven't compared her pricing to anyone else yet...and I haven't got a final cost breakdown from her yet either..that was just her quote from seeing the pics in email....

  • I sent my florist pictures that I liked and she came up with ideas that were similar - actually prettier - and less expensive.  So my high pieces are $120 and my low pieces  are $65.00 for one that's full of different flowers and $50 for another that I love but is hard to explain with wheatgrass.  I'm using Leslie at Whimsical welcomes and she really worked with my budget and came up with amazing solutions.  She sketched a lot of ideas for me and we came up with arragements I love from those.

  • Looks like I'm oon the high side.
We are doing all white peonies, garden roses, and hydrangia
    $250 bride boquet
    $100 maids boquet
    $250 per tablescape
    $400 head tablescape
various amounts from $40-$400 for escort, welcome table and cocktail hour tables.
We're also going to have pin spotting and uplighting on the centerpieces which is another $4,000.

  • Good to know, so that at least I won't have total stickershock when I contact the florist.  I'm going to look into Marcus Hook Florists.  I hear great things about them from family and reviews online about how you get a lot more for your money there.  My mom swears by them.  Thanks for the recommendation above as well, it never hurts to get some more quotes!

I know there's someone else people were recommending awhile ago, I'm thinking more up the blue rt, but the woman worked out of her house and did a great job making you a preview of her work. Anyone remember her name?

Have heard the same about Marcus Hook Florists.
