Mother of the Bride Attire

I need help deciding what color my mom should wear. The bridesmaid are going to be in a long navy blue dress with a brooch on the side, the guys are probably going to be in black tuxes with  the vest being navy blue as well. The wedding is in October, the accent colors are fall colors, so like red, orange and yellow.  I know my mom is looking for a long dress.

    Your mom can choose whatever color she likes. She can choose to coordinate, or not, totally up to her. If she asked you for suggestions, I would say a navy or a neutral would be pretty.

    VIP guests don't have to coordinate with the wedding colours. Let your mom wear whatever she wants.

    Another vote for letting your mom pick out her own dress.  She doesn't need to match the bridal party.  Let her be comfortable and wear a color that flatters her.

    Your mother can wear whatever color she wants.  Generally white is considered in poor taste, but any other color is fair game.   I can't think of a single color that would clash with navy blue. She should choose something that flatters her and makes her feel amazing.    Same thing with the MOG.

    Ditto to what PPs said.  The only time you can say anything is if your FMIL or mother asks you for input.  I know mine did, and I didn't say a peep to them (or even think it was my place to make suggestions) until they kept asking me for input and direction.
