HELP...AC for reception venue?

Knotties,
I am looking at Fresh Air Farms for my August wedding.  However, the loft is on the second floor.  Owner is concerned that it could get very warm up there.  Do you have any sugesstions? I can change my date to may or early june.  I could also rent AC? (not sure of price or vendor) Has anyone used fresh air farms before? is it really that hot in the summer. temprature wise the average high heat between June and August is only 3 degrees diffrent...

Thanks

Well the past two days we've had a heat index of over 100....  June was hot, but I don't recall it being over 100.  May was fairly mild.  It was only in the 50's on my wedding day (May 14th).  You really can't plan for the weather at all in Kansas City!!  It could rain one day, then snow, then be hot!

I encounter these scenarios a lot as a wedding photographer, and the simple truth is: you can never count on weather. But you can always have a backup! In my experience, June 15 through August 30th tends to be the hottest/humidest part of summer. If you have any doubt whatsoever about the heat, ALWAYS plan for the worst case scenario. In your case, it sounds like you really really love this reception venue, so I'd recommend changing your date if you have the fliexibility to do so, and saving some expense in trying to cool down an area that sounds really difficult to cool off! You might be spending a huge lot to cool it off. You don't want miserable guests, and you don't want to be miserable yourself on your wedding day. Believe me, and as a photographer I know, you can't Photoshop miserable! Best wishes - Amanda
