Pushing It Back?

Hey Sisters...Ive got some checks (boutonierres, DIY fa real aisle runner design, blinged cake topper and most STDs out) BUT Im now wondering if I should slow it down and push the wedding back a year to Sun Jun 1, 2014....why would I do that? Fiance aint making enough to me for this and our daily dues, and getting another job on top of school, work and motherhood is added stress, and these taxes arent showing me the dough that I feel I require to do this at the present time. Thats why Im thinking of pushing it back. On the OTHER hand, counseling is going well, I  recently got the ring I really wanted lol, and if I registered for summer courses the month after (which I more than likely would do regardless) we'd have more money coming from school refunds in addition to the ones I'd get in August. I however, dont like feeling like we're living off my school loans (WHICH HAVE TO BE PAID BACK EVENTUALLY), or is the usual mentality, "get it how you can". Its a bit depressing to have to push my day back when its so near..so I came up with a "SEMI-Solution"....we still get married on Jun 1, 2013(Saturday) just us and immediate fam at my grandparents home and then next year on on our 1 year anniversary June 1, 2014 (Sunday and cheaper) (because we've made downpayments and I still want our big celebration), to do the whole shebang? I want my day THIS year but I feel a bit more responsible having it next year. I need truth and encouragement, esp to decide on next year.

Re: Pushing It Back?

  • I knw how your feel about having to push it out another year considering i was supposed to be getting married this year in August but we talked it over and with our finances the way it was we just pushed it back but even if you wanted to go ahead and get married now (this year) and do it big next year i say go for it...

  • I voted for next year, but would be ok with you getting married this year. Just make sure your guests know you are already married. We did a longer engagement because of the money and FI's health. It's what worked for us. If I were up to me we would have gotten married last year and celebrated this year but he wanted the full experience so this year it is

  • I think whatever you decide will be good  for you guys...

But if you want to do it up one time real big.. then hold off til next year and get exactly what you want...

I am soo happy that your counseling is going well... That is a BLESSING..
