NEED HELP....WEDDING GUEST QUESTION

My wedding is a month away, I have some wedding guest who had not RSVPd for the wedding, and I called and emailed almost weekly with no response.

Since we are having our wedding at a location where we are paying per head, how should I deal with the final guest count as we need to pay per head, and I don't think we should pay for those who did not RSVP....is that fair?  I will do an overset of 3%,  we had 184 RSVP, so we decided to pay for 190, is that right to do? What do we do with extra people who decide to show up at the wedding and did not RSVP?

HELP NEEDED

Thank You for the Advice

I would keep calling the MIA guest to find out if they are for sure coming or not. I am not planning on doing an "overset" of guests and we also pay per head.

when is your final count due to your caterer/hall?

We need to provide them with a final count next week.  So that we can do our final payments next week as well.

So it would be best to just cut off the guess count once we have given the caterer the actual RSVP'd guest numbers? My FI doesn't believe in paying for an overset, I am just not sure of the actual wedding ettiquette on final guest counts and late response.

    Thanks again for the help

Personally I would contact the MIA guests with the message that "final count will be given to the caterer on XXX and after that will will not be allowed additional guests.  I am really looking forward to your attendance so please let me know by XXX if you are able to attend."

Speak to your caterer/location as to how they typically handle it. I believe that with most places you can give a final count for your final payment, but they are also usually willing to add a few more heads after the final count has been submitted.

Ditto PP's... but make sure when you call/e-mail you include in your message: "FI & I are really looking forward to seeing you, however our final count is due by X date and if we haven't heard from you by then, unfortunately we'll have to count you (and family/guest/SO) as a no."

Most caterers are willing to provide a few extra options, but if you are doing escort cards or anything (as FI & I will be), anyone who fails to RSVP is sh!t out of luck and won't be eating or sitting at the reception.
